To the Leader of the Houthi group: The Solutions you have Offered Only Serves the West and do not Serve the People of Yemen

Al-Thawra Daily Newspaper published in Sana'a on Sunday, 03/07/2022, about the leader of the Houthi group, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi, with a solution to confront the rise in the prices of oil derivatives, as well as for food self-sufficiency in Yemen. The newspaper described it as a vision with a positive long-term impact.

The media continues as a malleable tool in the hands of the ruling regime in Sana’a by unrealistic and erroneous promotion, by means of paid pens from inside and outside Yemen, of everything issued by the leader of the Houthis, that he is the effective medicine, the curative solution and the adequate treatment for all the problems that people suffer in their daily lives in Yemen the land of Faith and wisdom.

What is the practical solution offered by the leader of the group to confront the rise in oil derivatives, and to achieve food self-sufficiency in Yemen? Let us look at the details of that solution he presented, which is to end the import of wheat from Western countries, and to always import genetically modified wheat seeds of Western origin, and to plant them inside Yemen. Those seeds which are dangerous to agricultural soil, original crops and human health. It is reported regularly that the cultivation of one hectare produces 6-7 tons. Thus, resulting to be self-sufficient, as he claims, instead of cultivating the various original, local grain varieties. However, it will produce less than 5% of the genetically modified seeds of wheat needed by the people of Yemen. As for the solution set by the leader of the Houthis to confront the rise in oil derivatives, it is to stop importing goods from Europe, China and others, and to replace their production locally, and it is not excluded that this production may be limited to packaging goods and packing them locally only!

Whoever wants to reach self-sufficiency must, first of all, have his political decision in his hand and not in the hands of others, and to prove this in practice, such as providing original seeds, not genetically modified ones, and providing pesticides and fertilizers from local industry so that he does not remain dependent on others who control him as they want, and he must also provide goods and services as a whole in the countryside and villages to have the reverse migration from the cities to the countryside to provide the labor force that migrated from the countryside to the city in search of a job or work to provide what is needed to meet the needs of those whom they are responsible to spend on. And the construction of dams, knowledge of the rulings of land in Islam and giving it to those who revive it. Organizations must be prevented from entering Yemen and those who are present there must be expelled so that people turn to their land instead of relying on these organizations, and finally, it must provide oil derivatives at the cost of their production so that people can obtain them for use in the agricultural process, and there must be protectionism, i.e. placing restrictions on import for the purpose of supporting the local product from competing with the imported product, but all of these solutions must be within an integrated system, which is the application of Islam in all aspects of life.

We in Hizb ut Tahrir have prepared a draft constitution drawn from the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Messenger (saw), and it is presented to the Ummah, in which we detailed all the systems, including the economic system. The real and correct solution is to remove the entire ruling capitalist system and eradicate it from its roots. It is the calamity that has befallen all Muslims and even others, and has caused them to perish, and the establishment of the second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly-guided Caliphate) state upon the method of the Prophethood, to resume the Islamic way of life, to rule by Islam, and to cut off the hands of Western countries from interfering in the affairs of the Muslims, not to mention the West managing it as is happening today in Yemen. Allah (swt) says:

[مَّا يَوَدُّ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا مِنْ أَهْلِ الْكِتَابِ وَلَا الْمُشْرِكِينَ أَن يُنَزَّلَ عَلَيْكُم مِّنْ خَيْرٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَخْتَصُّ بِرَحْمَتِهِ مَن يَشَاءُ وَاللَّهُ ذُو الْفَضْلِ الْعَظِيمِ]

“The disbelievers from the People of the Book and the polytheists would not want you to receive any blessing from your Lord, but Allah selects whoever He wills for His mercy. And Allah is the Lord of infinite bounty.” [TMQ Al-Baqarah 105].
