The Real Radical Change is the Complete Removal of the Current System, not just Patchwork!

Abdul-Malik al-Houthi announced in his speech on the ninth anniversary of September 21, 2014, that fundamental changes would be announced on the occasion of Al-Mawlid Al-Nabawi (Prophet Muhammad’s birthday).

People in Yemen awaited with patience for six nights and seven days, and various political parties and institutions were forced to accept and bless the expected changes, with the media endorsing them throughout that period. However, towards the end, they were shocked by the familiar old titles of the new changes that Abdul-Malik al-Houthi spoke about!

The shock came in the afternoon of Wednesday, 12th Rabi' al-Awwal of this year when the dismissal of the National Salvation government was announced, along with addressing economic problems, addressing judicial imbalances, and the national partnership. All of this was done under the name of the first phase of radical change! Yet, they couldn't get rid of their opponents in the Congress Party, which they had ridden the wave of.

Any real change, oh you all, is it? We are convinced that Abdul-Malik's followers, like other people who have borne the bitterness and woes of war for nine lean years, might witness a political and economic scene primarily different from its predecessors, but to no avail. What is even more painful is the accommodation and welcoming of "mercenaries" under the banner of national partnership and allowing them to participate in the government of competence! This is the main item in the radical changes, reflecting what was agreed upon in Riyadh between them and the Sanaa delegation during the visit that took place one week before September 21st last year. The Houthi movement is a secular movement that cloaks itself in the Quranic march, and, like its predecessors among rulers, has surpassed them in igniting despicable sectarianism, shamelessness, and openly committing crimes and wrongdoing.

And thus, the suffering of the people continues on the economic scene. The prices of petrol and diesel have doubled, while the price of a gas cylinder has quadrupled compared to what it was before September 21, 2014!! Meanwhile, the collection of money from the people continues throughout the year under different names.

Since the first day of September 21st, the Houthis have maintained the existing system and have not sought to uproot it and bring about a radical change as they claim. Their changes have aimed at patching up the system and preserving it. In this regard, they fear people outside Yemen more than those inside it, and they deceive people with promises of radical changes. Are they afraid of people more than they are afraid of Allah?! The situation in northern Yemen witnesses a heated conflict between the Houthis and the Congress Party, especially since the ceasefire came into effect, causing further suffering for the people of Yemen.

The real change that is required in Yemen, which September 21st did not dare to undertake from its first day, despite calling itself the "Quranic march," is the establishment of Islamic rule as an alternative to the existing oppressive capitalist system.

The true change that the people of faith and wisdom should seek, and which is pleasing to the inhabitants of the heavens and the earth, is the establishment of the second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of the Prophethood. Khilafah and empowerment on earth are a promise from Allah, who says:

[وَعَدَ اللهُ الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِي الْأَرْضِ كَمَا اسْتَخْلَفَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ الَّذِي ارْتَضَى لَهُمْ]

“Allah has promised those who have believed among you and done righteous deeds that He will surely grant them succession [to authority] upon the earth just as He granted it to those before them and that He will surely establish for them [therein] their religion which He has preferred for them” [Surat An-Nur:55] and the Prophet )saw) gave the glad tidings, saying: «ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ»“Then there will be Khilafah on the method of the Prophethood.”
