On 6/2/2024, a decision was issued by the Presidential Council in Aden appointing Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak as Prime Minister of the Aden government, succeeding Maeen Abdul Malik. The appointment of Ahmed bin Mubarak came after the failure of the Presidential Council in the areas under its control to agree on a number of candidates for the ministerial position.

Changing faces to distract people is a feature of capitalism. While people’s hopes have been dashed due to the difficult life in light of the complete deterioration of services, with growing discontent with the government of Maeen Abdul Malik, Ahmed bin Mubarak is appointed as his successor while government ministers remain in their posts, as if this change is what the people of Yemen are seeking, and is the one that will eliminate corruption and achieve the decent life that has become a fantasy under these agent rulers!!

This change proves the bankruptcy of the agent political center in the country, as it only finds people who are consumers, people who have tried their corruption and tasted the scourges of their rule, under this false capitalist system. Even if it brings the cleanest political system, it cannot fix the situation because corruption is at the root of the ideology. The basic problem is not in the corruption of officials alone, rather the root of the problem is the capitalist system by which we are governed. Regardless of the personality of the Prime Minister, the destruction of our economy will not stop as long as this system remains in place.

The newcomer will say the same things that his predecessor said, and he will seek to falsely reassure people that the country is going through a difficult period, and he will try to solve its problems!! People have heard similar lies over the past years. The people of Yemen must not be deceived by false promises and the exhausted lies. Bin Mubarak and bin Abdul Malik are two sides of the same coin.

The people of Yemen must know that this change is the replacement of an agent with an agent. While they in Aden deny the existence of external interference in the appointment of Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak, they admit that international bodies exerted pressure to speed up the ministerial change, and that America and Britain made promises to bin Mubarak to provide generous support to his government in the thorny files.

The intense and ongoing international conflict over Yemen in general and its south in particular is the real reason behind the turbidity of life in Yemen. This conflict is between Britain (the old colonialism), which has not left south Yemen since it left it militarily in 1967, maintaining its political influence in it until the present moment, serving it regionally is the Emirates Zayed bin Sultan and his sons, and America (the new colonialism), which wants to replace the old colonialism with its political influence, with the help of Salman bin Abdulaziz and his son Muhammad.

The problem is not in the people and their replacement, but rather in the ruling system that the two warring countries are keen to preserve, and to prevent the return of Islam to power with all their might. If the people in Yemen want real change, let them remove the current ruling system from its roots and replace it with a second Khilafah Rashidah (rightly guided Caliphate) on the method of Prophethood. Hizb ut Tahrir calls on the Islamic Ummah to uproot this capitalist system from its roots and resume the Islamic life by establishing the second Khilafah Rashidah on the method of Prophethood in which the people will enjoy a life that the inhabitants of earth and heaven are satisfied with.
