News Right Now: Blood Red Carpets
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Welcome to News Right Now - Blood Red Carpets.
Saudi Crown Prince, Muhammad bin Salman recently visited India, after much controversy and making international headlines. Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi broke protocol and even met the crown prince on the airport tarmac, greeting him with a hug and bouquet of flowers. The visit of the crown prince was preceded by a visit to Pakistan and an explosion in the Indian occupied province of Kashmir.
MBS’s tour shows a Saudi pivot east-ward, making his last stop in Beijing. His maiden trip to India was marked with high tensions between Pakistan and India, forcing bin Salman to return to Riyadh from Islamabad, and then heading to New Delhi, to avoid flying to and from the capitals of the hostile neighbors. The source of current tension is the car bombing that took place in Kashmir, killing 40 Indian soldiers. India blames Pakistan for the violence, but Kashmiris have grown tired of decades of oppression and occupation, and an uptick in violence against civilians by the Indian government.
While in India, bin Salman condemned terrorism and terrorist networks and pledged to invest in India, to which Indian Prime Minister Modi replied: "Saudi Arabia is one of India's most valuable strategic partners. Our relations have grown stronger. I welcome Saudi investment in Indian infrastructure." Prior to his visit to India, the Pakistani government welcomed MBS’s arrival, receiving him with a red carpet and a 21-gun military salute.
The reason is simple; the Pakistani government is desperate for cash and looking to bolster its foreign reserves. It’s deep relationship with Saudi Arabia makes the Saudi government an ideal source of funds. But Saudi Arabia also benefits from Pakistan - the Pakistani army provides military assistance and protection to the Saudi government.
This multi-state visit by the Saudi crown prince proves one thing; the Saudi government has no loyalty to Islam or the Muslim Ummah. In India he failed to highlight the occupation in Kashmir and spilling of Muslim blood. Regarding the 1 million Muslims held in Chinese concentration camps, he defended the Chinese governments abhorable actions saying on Chinese television, quote: “"China has the right to carry out anti-terrorism and de-extremization work for its national security.”
He ran an Eastern charm offensive, while children die in Yemen due to his brutal war. While Muslims in Pakistan, India, China and Saudi Arabia sit in prisons. While Muslims in Kashmir suffer at the hands of the brutal Indian army. And while he personally is still implicated in the abduction, torture, murder, and dismemberment of journalist Jamal Kashoggi.
It’s bad enough that Muslims are tortured and killed by non-Muslim governments like India and China. The Muslim rulers themselves are the source of the pain and suffering of the Ummah. Pakistan is flanked with the open wounds of Afghanistan to the west and Kashmir to the east.
Saudi Arabia imprisons anyone who dares to criticize its tyrannical king, while waging war on the Muslims of Yemen; leading to one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world. From all of this, it’s evident where the Muslim rulers’ loyalty and allegiance lies.
The cooperation of Muslim rulers in batil and their unified stance against haqq is another sign that the disposal of these rulers and their corrupt systems is long overdue.
JazakAmullah Khairan for joining us. Wasalaam u alaykum wa rahamatullah.
