In our days, Sabr (patience) is mostly understood as having patience in tests. Certainly, patience in tests is part of a Believer's life:

It is well known within the Ummah that when the following verse was revealed:(وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَاتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَارِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا ۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ)"And they are not to show their charm except that which is apparent. And let them cover their chests and necks (Juyoob) with their head covers (khimaars)". [An-Nur 24: 31],

Tawakkul is the cornerstone of the Islamic Aqeedah. Tawakkul is a matter of faith and shapes our view of life. Tawakkul is absolute trust and unconditional submission to Allah. Tawakkul is obeying and fulfilling His commands, and trusting the outcomes/success of our undertakings to Allah (swt)’s hands.
