On the 17th of October 2016, the weekly online newspaper the “Jewish Journal” posted an article celebrating the Independence Day of Azerbaijan which claimed that Azerbaijan was a world leader in women rights issues.

A cholera outbreak in Yemen is spreading rampantly, and posing an additional danger to the children, according to the UN. Similarly, the World Health Organisation (WHO) is saying, as reported by the Yemeni Ministry of Health, that there have been eight cases of cholera, most of whom are children, registered within a single Yemeni district in the capital of Sanaa.

On the 3rd of October, Turkey announced that the European Commission had signed two direct grants worth €600 million to support Syrian refugees and host communities in Turkey in the areas of education and health. Half of the grant will supposedly be used to support Syrian refugee children’s integration into the Turkish schooling system.
