Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan received permission from Myanmar’s civilian leader Aung San Suu Kyi to send 1,000 tons of aid to help Rohingya Muslims fleeing slaughter, torture and rape by Myanmar authorities, savage Buddhist monks and civilians.

Legislation requiring people to "stick to traditional national clothes and culture" has been introduced in Tajikistan - a move widely interpreted as an attempt to stop women from wearing Islamic clothing. Women in the central Asian country traditionally wear a scarf tied behind the head, rather than a hijab, which wraps under the chin.

The office of Myanmar’s leader, Aung San Suu Kyi, said military and border police responded to the attacks — which left 12 security personnel and 77 Rohingya dead — by launching “clearance operations.”
