The Muslims Have the Answer to Solve the Problems of those Disillusioned with the Current System

For the past four years, Americans have become disillusioned with the secular, capitalist government and especially its liberal party. Americans have seen soaring housing prices, the high cost of utilities, food, education, and medical care, as well as, the increase in promoting the LGBTQ+ lifestyle have led the average American to question the political system. The lies that the liberals have spewed about protecting immigrants which saw more forced removals under Obama than Trump. The 30 million people, mostly from the most poverty stricken areas, at risk of losing their Medicaid/Medicare health insurance. The poor state of the American food industry that fills animals with antibiotics and steroids and the cheap processed food filled with chemicals which only increases the profits of the medical and pharmaceutical industries at the expense of people’s health. The ongoing financial support for Ukraine in its war with Russia, which many see as money that should be spent to help Americans. The unwavering support for the Zionist Entity during its barbaric genocide against Gazans has been the final straw that broke the firm support for the liberal party, especially by the youth in America. All of this and more, led to the defeat of Kamala Harris in the past election with Americans, Muslims included, looking for something different to change the growing problems in the society and across the world.

It is evident by the election map, that the majority of the people across America believe that Donald Trump and JD Vance have what it takes to solve the problems that Americans are facing. Trump appointed Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as the head of the Department of Health and Human Services promising to make sweeping changes to both those industries eliminating the harmful additives and pharmaceuticals. He promises to increase tariffs and encourage people to buy American, lower the cost of living, protect the family unit (which is pretty rich coming from a serial adulterer) by lessening access to abortion and the promotion of LGBTQ+ in schools, stop giving financial aid to Ukraine, stop illegal immigration, which the Republican party often uses as a scapegoat for the out of control violence and drug problems across the country, and increase employment to get people off welfare. Yet, Trump, Vance, & RFK Jr. are part of the same rotten capitalist system that is the cause of all these oppressions.

Many Americans have been calling for a change of the system, yet they do not really know what that means because they look to either a change to democratic socialism, or an extreme right view to solve their problems. Unfortunately, we see Muslims in America also jumping on these bandwagons by working for third party candidates and calling for either ultra liberal, or ultra conservative changes within the current government. None of which would cause any change, stop the genocide in Gaza, alleviate the suffering of Americans, or those held in shackles by American hegemony across the world.

However, there is only one change that could happen to the world order that would not only stop the genocide in Gaza, but put an end to the above mentioned problems facing human beings the world over, and would end the American stronghold over the world and that is the return of the Khilafah.

The blueprint on how to solve the problems faced by humanity has been given to the Muslims via the Quran and the Sunnah. To ensure, to the best of the Khalifa’s ability, everyone who lives under the State of Islam, regardless of race, or religion, has food free of harmful added ingredients, a roof over their head, and access to medical care and education. It would also protect the family unit through the institution of marriage between a man and woman only. This is only the tip of the iceberg of how the implementation of the Islamic shariah would be a protector rather than a cause of human suffering. So, instead of turning to the flawed political groups and systems of human beings to bring a change that can never happen, we should look to the Quran and Sunnah to guide our beliefs and actions to make the political change. The Prophet (saw) did not join the government of Mecca in hopes to rectify the ills of society, or encourage the sahaba to do so. Rather he (saw) and the sahaba continued to proclaim the haqq of Allah (saw) to the people while simultaneously looking for a people to grant him the nussrah to establish Islam as a complete way of life. Following the example of the Prophet (saw), Muslims living in America and more broadly in the West should point out the root causes for the ills in society, namely capitalism and secularism, while offering Islam as an alternative. Concurrently, we should be calling the people of power in the Muslim lands to grant nussrah for the resumption of the Islamic political system. Striving in the path of Allah (swt) by the method laid out for us by the Prophet (saw) will we truly see the change that the world is craving and calling for, insha 'Allah.

[وَعَدَ ٱللَّهُ ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ مِنكُمْ وَعَمِلُوا۟ ٱلصَّـٰلِحَـٰتِ لَيَسْتَخْلِفَنَّهُمْ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ كَمَا ٱسْتَخْلَفَ ٱلَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ وَلَيُمَكِّنَنَّ لَهُمْ دِينَهُمُ ٱلَّذِى ٱرْتَضَىٰ لَهُمْ وَلَيُبَدِّلَنَّهُم مِّنۢ بَعْدِ خَوْفِهِمْ أَمْنًۭا ۚ يَعْبُدُونَنِى لَا يُشْرِكُونَ بِى شَيْـًۭٔا ۚ وَمَن كَفَرَ بَعْدَ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ هُمُ ٱلْفَـٰسِقُونَ]

“Allah has promised those of you who believe and do good that He will certainly make them successors in the land, as He did with those before them; and will surely establish for them their faith which He has chosen for them; and will indeed change their fear into security—˹provided that˺ they worship Me, associating nothing with Me. But whoever disbelieves after this ˹promise˺, it is they who will be the rebellious.” (TMQ: Surah An Noor ayah 55).
