Let Go of your National Prison and Embrace Islamic Unity

Amidst the genocides happening in Gaza and Sudan, the murdering and abusing of our brothers and sisters in Uyghur camps and the mutilation of women, children and the elderly, one thing has remained the same: Muslims around the world have raised those flags and demanded that those countries be liberated, or they have ignored the cries of the martyred because their pain does not reach them. But are they not Muslims before they are Sudanese, Palestinian or Uyghur? Are they not our brothers and sisters not due to the language they speak, the color of their skin but because they too believe in “La Illaha illa Allah Muhammad Rasul Allah”?

We, as an Ummah, have allowed our brothers to suffer because of borders drawn with rulers, by men who only wish to profit of our lands. We hold on to identities crafted by the West, made to ensure that we do not feel the pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters.

We as an Ummah have forgotten that Islam has come to unite the world, and that the Prophet and the Khulafa after him, have worked and fought to unite the Ummah. They did not speak of foreign countries. They did not stop the spreading of Islam because the people of that land spoke a different language or had a different skin color. However, despite his teachings, and despite the Quran telling us we must unite against kufr (disbelief), there are still many who proudly brandish colonizer flags, wear necklaces with ‘their’ countries proudly, as if this was not what the West wanted in the first place.

Was it not Caliph Al-Mutasim Billah, born in modern Iraq, who was told a woman had called for his help all the way from Umuriyyah, in modern day Turkey, and besieged the city in one day to come to her aid? He did this because of the Khilafah because Islam unites all Muslims under one flag, one slogan, one ideology. And Allah (swt) says:

[وَاعْتَصِمُوا بِحَبْلِ اللَّهِ جَمِيعًا وَلَا تَفَرَّقُوا ۚ وَاذْكُرُوا نِعْمَتَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ إِذْ كُنتُمْ أَعْدَاءً فَأَلَّفَ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِكُمْ فَأَصْبَحْتُم بِنِعْمَتِهِ إِخْوَانًا]

“And hold firmly together to the rope of Allah and do not be divided. Remember Allah’s favour upon you when you were enemies, then He united your hearts, so you—by His grace—became brothers.” [Surah Aali ‘Imran: 103].

It is time, my brothers and sisters, for us to let go of national identities crafted by the West. It is time to let go of slogans such as “Palestine for the Palestinians”. It is time to remember that ware part of one Ummah, united by the Prophet’s (saw) flag and that Palestine should be saved for the Ummah. It is time to remember that A-Quds should be saved because of its significance for all Muslims. It is time to remember that is not Sudanese people dying, it is our brothers and sisters being murdered, and raped and beaten for the resources their land has.

It is time to end these genocides against our brothers and sisters, by uniting against the colonizers and our corrupt leaders. It is time to let go of countries created to weaken us and separate us. It is time to be united under the flag of Islam, the flag of our beloved prophet (saw), who has been victorious against the disbelievers. It is time to raise the banner Khalid Ibn Walid (ra) as he liberated our brothers and sisters and spread Islam across the world. It is our time to raise the flag and save our brothers and sisters from the massacre happening against them for their land.

So, I ask you brothers and sisters, stop asking for corrupt ‘Muslim’ countries to stand, and call out for the one true solution, the Khilafah, which will not turn its back on the ummah to keep its Western masters happy. It is time to unite ourselves under one nation, which will protect the Ummah. It is time to call upon the Khilafah, which will not stay silent as our brothers and sisters beg on social media to be helped by leaders who have sold their souls to the West in exchange of money. It is time to call upon a Khilafah that will not stand still as Muslims rely on the ocean to float food and supplies to their Palestinian brothers and sisters.
