The Rulers of Pakistan Cling to an Economic Model that Has Failed Since 1958
On 22 October 2026, the Associated Press of Pakistan reported that “Adviser to the Prime Minister on Privatization Muhammad Ali on Thursday stressed the need for sustainable economic growth through structural reforms, private-sector investment and export-led development, identifying agriculture, textiles and information technology (IT) as key sectors that could help Pakistan strengthen its economy.”
The ruling elite of Pakistan is failing to halt the steep economic decline that the Muslims are facing. It is failing because it continues to implement the model that the colonialist financial institutions set for it in 1958. The colonialist model for the Muslim World is to limit focus on agriculture and textiles, whilst preventing focus on the key to industrialization and competition with the Group of Seven (G7) states, the establishment of the machine industry, the industry that produces the machinery at the heart of substantial, high value industry.
Even the additional focus on information technology (IT) will not be a game-changer, because it does not focus on the heart of the industry, which is the manufacture of microchips. It is limited to the development of applications, which allows local companies to meet the needs of large G7 companies at low cost.
The result is increasing poverty, debt and hardship. It includes the drain of the most capable sons and daughters to the G7 states to escape poverty. It is a brain drain and not a brain gain as the ruler of Pakistan, Asim Munir claimed in August 2025. Financial remittances from Overseas Pakistanis is no compensation for a glaring gap in industrial capability.
Seeking the pleasure of Allah (swt) in the Aakhirah (Hereafter), the Muslims of Pakistan must not neglect their economic rights in Dunya (this life). The Khilafah (Caliphate) will free the economy from riba payments, focus expenditure and expertise on establishing a machine industry, and supervise an industrial revolution within the Muslim World so that it emerges as a competitor to the G7 states, ahead of becoming the world’s leading economic power, by the Permission of Allah (swt).
The US Is a Rogue State That Cannot Be Trusted in Either Alliance, Following Or Subordination
On 20 October 2026, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) stated, "President Masoud Pezeshkian told Pakistani Army chief Field Marshal Asim Munir Tuesday that the tensions in the region are all result of US warmongering policies. During the meeting with Munir, President Pezeshkian stressed that all the problems in the region stem from the US's belligerent nature, stressing that Americans must lift threats and sanctions before any talks."
The thinking that the US can be trusted after lifting threats and sanctions is wrong. The US cannot be trusted in alliance, in following its foreign policy or in subordination, regardless of conditions and preconditions.
Alliance with the US is political suicide even if it is an actual alliance, as with Britain, rather than a nominal alliance as with the Muslim states. Britain is suffering the dire consequences of its transatlantic alliance with the US. At a time of economic crisis, Britain is struggling to expand military capabilities, after the US withdraw from security commitments to NATO. In joint ventures in the Muslim World, whether in Iraq or Afghanistan, the US always took the lions share, leaving scraps for Britain. Now, the US is not even allowing Britain scraps, by chasing it out of the Falklands Islands and Canada, whilst inciting fires of separation within Scotland, Wales and Ireland.
As for the nominal alliance with any Muslims state, it has been either following in the orbit of US foreign policy or subordination. Now, the US has taken following off the table, as the case of Iran demonstrates clearly. Iran followed in the satellite of US foreign policy for 46 years, from 1979 until early 2026. It contented itself with less than scraps, as in Syria, but was then even denied tiny morsels before the US turned on it in open hostility on 28 February 2026. The case of Iran is an early warning for Türkiye, which is persisting in following the US until it is its turn.
So, in the view of the US, the only option for any Muslim state is complete subordination, which is realizing the interests of the US, at the cost of its own troops and its wealth. Pakistan is a clear example of the political naivety in accepting subordination. It has lost tens of thousands of civilian and military lives, as well as billions from its economy through subordination to the US. It is to lose more if it engages in the US war on Iran and its proxies in Yemen.
However, upon the viewpoint of Islam, there is the option of independence, through the implementation of the Shariah Law of Allah (swt) and the unification of the Muslim states as a single massive Khilafah (Caliphate). So, which Muslim state will save itself and the Islamic Ummah by becoming the launching point for a global Khilafah? It is indeed the right time for all states of the world to sever alliances with the duplicitous US, leaving it to die its own death.
The Rulers of Muslims Work Without Rest for Trump, But Do Not Lift a Finger For Gaza
Dawn - On 19 October, while addressing the 8th Global Security Forum being held in Qatar’s capital, Doha, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s mediation efforts between the United States and Iran, affirming that Islamabad “never gave up”. “There, I saw something I will never forget,” he said, adding that Qatar’s Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and CDF Munir worked for “more than 16 hours without a single break”.
The Islamic Ummah will not forget either.
The Islamic Ummah will not forget how the rulers of the Muslims work tirelessly for the enemies of Muslims, urging Iran to become subordinate to the colonialists, which is the well-trodden path for increased economic hardship and insecurity in the Muslim World, as the Muslims of Pakistan and Qatar can themselves confirm.
And the Ummah will not forget how the rulers of Muslims do nothing for Gaza, as the Jews continue their siege and genocide, whilst expanding their mischief into the West Bank and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa.
Indeed, the rulers of Muslims are the Ruwaybidah that the Prophet (saw) warned us of. The Prophet (saw) said, «سَيَأْتِي عَلَى النَّاسِ سَنَوَاتٌ خَدَّاعَاتٌ يُصَدَّقُ فِيهَا الْكَاذِبُ وَيُكَذَّبُ فِيهَا الصَّادِقُ وَيُؤْتَمَنُ فِيهَا الْخَائِنُ وَيُخَوَّنُ فِيهَا الأَمِينُ وَيَنْطِقُ فِيهَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ قِيلَ وَمَا الرُّوَيْبِضَةُ قَالَ الرَّجُلُ التَّافِهُ فِي أَمْرِ الْعَامَّةِ» “There will come upon the people years of deceit, in which the liar is believed and the truthful person is disbelieved; the treacherous one is trusted and the trustworthy one is mistrusted; and the Ruwaybidah will speak out.” It was asked, “And what is the Ruwaybidah?” He replied, “The insignificant, incompetent person who controls the affairs of the public.”
It is time to uproot the Ruwaybidah and appoint a Khaleefah Rashid (rightly-guided Caliph) in their place, who will strive tirelessly to take care of the affairs of the Islamic Ummah, in the blessed footsteps of Umar Al-Farooq (ra), who slept on the steps of Al-Masjid An-Nabawwi after the Salah of Fajr through exhaustion, after his night patrols.
In the Absence of Shariah Economics, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan Rank in the 10 Largest Global Food Crises
According to a new report from Action Against Hunger, entitled “The 10 Largest Global Food Crises” that was released on 15 October 2026, about two-thirds of people facing acute hunger, 177 million, live in just 10 countries: including Sudan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Pakistan, South Sudan, and Syria.
Capitalism economics will never distribute wealth to end hunger within you amongst you. Interest (riba) concentrates wealth in the hands of banks and international financial institutions. Private ownership of energy and minerals concentrates wealth in the hands of private companies. Privatization of the property of the state deprives the state of revenues to spend on the needs of the community. After all this, the supporters of capitalism still give the hungry a false hope in the “trickle-down effect.”
Shariah economics forbids riba, grants public ownership of energy and minerals in both their benefit and their prices from sale, and opens the way for state ownership over valuable capital-intensive sectors, such as the manufacture of vehicles and computer chips. Shariah economics obliges the state to secure provisions for the hungry, by enabling them to engage in earning livelihood through grants, ordering their paternal male relatives (asabah) to support them if they are financially capable, providing funds from the Baytul Mal (State Treasury) and imposing emergency taxation on the wealthiest citizens, in the absence of sufficient funds from the Shariah sources of revenue.
Imam Ahmad narrated that the Prophet (saw) said,
«أيُّما أهْلِ عَرْصَةٍ أصْبحَ فِيهِمْ امْرؤٌ جائِعًا فقدْ بَرِئَتْ مِنهُمْ ذِمَّةُ اللهِ تبارك وتعالى»
“Any people, whosoever they may be, if a person among them became hungry, they will be removed from the protection of Allah the Blessed, the Supreme.”
O Muslims of Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan!
During the centuries of Shariah ruling governance in the Indian subcontinent, the region produced 23% of the world’s GDP. It was a global center of agriculture, industry and trade. In the absence of Shariah, and the presence of kufr (disbelief), we are deprived of our Shariah rights until we cannot even fill our bellies.
Strive with the shebaab (members) of Hizb ut Tahrir for the establishment of Shariah in all our affairs, so that we seek prosperity in Dunya and abundant reward in the Aakhira.
Private Ownership of the Mineral Wealth of the Public is Forbidden in Shariah
On 16 October 2026, Associated Press of Pakistan reported, "Pakistan is entering a new phase in the development of its mineral economy as rising global demand for copper, gold, chromite, lithium, rare earth elements and other critical minerals creates a strategic opportunity for the South Asian country to attract investment, develop new supply chains and diversify its sources of foreign exchange."
Pakistan has extensive mineral-bearing areas and a geological position within the broader Tethyan Metallogenic Belt, one of the world’s important copper and gold regions. The country has 92 known minerals, of which 52 are commercially exploited. According to the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMA), the country’s mineral reserves are estimated to be worth around $8 trillion. Reko Diq Copper and Gold Project Located in Balochistan’s Chagai district, Reko Diq is one of the world’s largest undeveloped copper and gold deposits.
The Shariah ruling is that the mineral wealth is public property whose benefit and price is the property of all the community of Muslims. At-Tirmidhi narrated from Abyadh ibn Hammal,
«أنه وفد إلى رسول الله ﷺ، فاستقطعه الملح فقطع له، فلما أن ولّى، قال رجل من المجلس: أتدري ما قطعت له؟ إنما قطعت له الماء العِدّ، قال: فانتزعه منه»
“That he came to the Prophet (saw) and asked him to grant him a salt laden land, and he granted it to him. And when he left, one person in attendance with the Prophet (saw) said, “Do you know what you granted him? You granted him the like of abundant water (‘udd).” He (saw) then took it away from him.”
However, the rulers of Pakistan are handing over property rights to foreign companies including Barrick Mining Corporation. On September 8, 2025, Pakistan’s Frontier Works Organisation and Missouri-based US Strategic Metals (USSM) signed two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) focusing on Rare Earth Elements (REEs). The Khilafah (Caliphate) will supervise the mineral wealth of the Ummah, hiring experts to assist its development, whilst ensuring its benefit and price are used for looking after the affairs of the Ummah.
