The UN Special Representative for Afghanistan, Deborah Lyons, while addressing at the meeting of the UN Security Council on Afghanistan reiterated that the situation ahead in Afghanistan is uncertain, thus a roadmap and an overseeing mandate is needed for Afghanistan to actively return to the global family.

While the world was closely following the latest developments in the Russian-Ukrainian war, a remarkable statement came from the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Lavrov said, “A Third World War would be nuclear and destructive”. He stated that they will not allow Ukraine to have nuclear weapons. (03.03.2022 Sabah)

In the final week of February 2022, the world witnessed the invasion of Ukraine by Russia. Despite the various responses of disapproval nothing actually was done to stop the clear intentions of Russian to start a war. Also as civilians are bombed day and night and deaths mount, there has been zero presence of any entity actually physically taking action to aid the indiscriminate killing.

Prior to the invasion of Ukraine by Russia the United States was actively engaged in the public announcement of the developments related to the Russia-Ukraine crisis. It was well aware of Russia’s plan to invade Ukraine and even when it would happen.
