On Wednesday, 16 May 2018, Kenyan President assented into law Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Bill, 2018. Furthermore, on Tuesday, 22 May 2018, Kenya Film Classification Board (KFCB) issued a public notice that as from 28 May 2018, anyone filming videos for public viewing will be required to obtain a license for the same.

This was the first meeting that took place without Server Mustafayev, a founder and coordinator of the movement who was arrested on 21st May and charged with the involvement in Hizb ut Tahrir.The arrest of the activist of the "Crimean solidarity" Server Mustafayev "will not affect the work of the association".
