09th March 2016: Syrian peace talks: release of political prisoners is next hurdle Britain is backing calls from the Syrian opposition operating under the umbrella of the High Negotiations Committee for the release of detainees held by the Syrian government. The HNC has already submitted a list of more than 170 political prisoners, and points to support for their release in successive UN resolutions.

It was reported in various Pakistani newspapers on 5th March, 2016 that two more children died of malnutrition in drought-hit Tharparkar on Friday morning, raising the death toll to 194 in 64 days. Doctors said that two children who were under treatment in Mithi Civil Hospital for many days have died. Dozens of children suffering from various disease caused by malnutrition are being treated in various hospitals of Thar.

Chief Justice (CJ) of Bangladesh Surendra Kumar Sinha and retired Justice Shamsuddin Manik tore into each other over a statement by the CJ that judges writing judgments after they have gone into retirement is illegal and unconstitutional, whereas the latter reacted saying that the CJ rather undermined the judiciary, the law and the system of justice with his anti-constitutional opinion.
