On the 27th of January, Hizb ut Tahrir / Malaysia organized a rally where memoranda of protest were handed to the embassies of Sweden and The Netherlands in Kuala Lumpur. The event was covered by social and mainstream media the very same day. The memoranda of protest were in response to the heinous acts of desecrating the Holy Quran perpetrated by extreme far right politicians in Sweden and The Netherlands.

Pakistan has suffered a nationwide power outage due to a technical fault that left large swaths of the country, including the capital Islamabad, without electricity. In a statement on Twitter, the energy ministry said the system frequency of the national grid went down at 7:34am (02:34 GMT) on Monday morning, 23 January.

On January 12, the news agency BBC NEWS reported on its Russian-language page: “A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Imam Raif Fevziev, detained in Russia-annexed Crimea, to 17 years in a strict regime colony. He was accused in the case of Hizb ut-Tahrir, an organization that is recognized as terrorist and banned in Russia but not in Ukraine.

On the 19th of January 2022, the BBC reported that a San Francisco art gallery owner was arrested for hosing down a homeless woman sitting outside his business premises in New York. Collier Gwin, 71, has been charged with misdemeanour battery after a video of him spraying the woman outside his gallery on the 9th of January went viral.
