Forty millionaires ask New York to raise taxes on wealthy in '1% plan for fairness'

Forty millionaires living New York have written an open letter requesting the state council to raise taxes on the wealthy as they feel that they need to pay their “fair share”. Amongst the signatories are famous individuals such as Steven Rockefeller, a member of the Rockefeller family. Whilst the public has not acted either for or against this open letter, it is clear that the millionaires around American society have been forced to align themselves with the public position as income inequality continues to rise. For example, child poverty exceeded 50% in certain areas within New York and other economic factors have caused the average man around the US to become disenfranchised with the unipolar system. Only time will tell how well these publicity stunts keep the public under control as financial corporations try desperately to avoid a repeat of what happened in Wall Street off the back of the 2008 financial crisis.

Attacks in Belgium

Brussels was the scene of multiple explosions on March 22. Belgian authorities have confirmed that at least 30 people were killed and more than 35 others were injured in twin blasts at Brussels' Zaventem Airport. An initial explosion took place near the American Airlines check-in counter. A second device then reportedly detonated near the Brussels Airlines ticket counter. Shortly thereafter, another explosion was reported at the Maelbeek metro station, close to the heart of Brussels and EU institutions. But the response of western leaders and their media reveals their hatred for Islam and Muslims. Before any culprit has been confirmed many blamed the increase in refugees into Europe as the cause. The CCTV video released by the Belgian authorities, purporting to show the attackers, was exposed to be a video from 2011! All of these has been to sensationalize the attacks and place Europe on a war footing, further justifying their aggressive crackdown on their Muslim communities. But this selective coverage and outrage can be clearly seen by the West, who have given no coverage to the recent attacks in turkey, where many have died. This selective reporting and condemnation, shows once again, that terrorist attacks will always be used for political gain by the west, irrespective of how many die.
