Mr. President: You did not mention that Capitalism is ruining Kenyan lives
News:
On Thursday 31st March 2016, Kenya’s President Uhuru Kenyatta delivered his annual speech in the Parliament to highlight the achievements of his Jubilee government which has now become 3 years old. Before his address deemed as State of the Nation address, each of his cabinet secretaries had addressed the nation on the achievements that they have had so far. Then followed the Deputy President William Ruto. In his address, the President highlighted some developments in some sectors such as energy that was increased by 600 MW. Zero tolerance on corruption was also on the agenda as well as the standard gauge railway that took a better of their conversation where it will now be 4hrs to travel from Mombasa to Nairobi unlike the normal 8hrs. Issues of, security, healthcare and exam cheating also took the centre stage. [Source: The Standard]
Comment:
What is so important and not being heard throughout his whole speech is the source of funds used to fast track these projects. Most of these funds are loans with compound interest that has made the Kenyan debt go up to almost 3 trillion plus.
This loan will without a doubt lead to the ongoing discussion of increasing the tax that is being levied on the common man that will lead to the increase in food prices making him unable to afford the basic commodities for his livelihood.
60% of Kenyans are unable to afford a descent and proper meal today and are living in indecent settlements. This has been the main cause of gang related crimes in this area not forgetting the rape cases that are on the rise at an alarming rate. As terrorism is the only source of insecurity today from the address, all this has been neglected maybe because it has become normal nowadays.
The air and water borne diseases are also named the 4th killer in Kenya without proper attention from the government. The worst menace of tribalism that is deep rooted as the major cause of civil wars, disunity and inequity in the distribution of resources leading to much panic after every election was not given time even though it has been loud in the current selection of the Parastatal bosses.
This is a global symptom of a global disease “CAPITALISM” that has caused a lot of deaths, inequity in distribution of resources , diseases, civil wars etc. the only remedy for this disease is KHILAFAH (Caliphate) upon the method of the Prophethood which is coming soon.
