Syrian Rebels Launch Aleppo Counter-Attack to Break Siege
After the restoration of the siege around eastern Aleppo by Assad forces, the revolutionaries in Syria are making a renewed effort to break the new siege.
According to Reuters reporting today:
Syrian rebels including jihadists counter-attacked the army and its allies on Friday aiming to break a weeks-long siege on eastern Aleppo, insurgents said.
The assault, employing heavy shelling and suicide car bombs, was mainly focused on the city's western edge by rebels based in the countryside outside Aleppo. It included Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, a former affiliate of al Qaeda previously known as the Nusra Front, and groups fighting under the Free Syrian Army (FSA) banner. [www.reuters.com]
The Syrian revolutionaries are succeeding in putting major world powers under considerable pressure only because these non-Muslim powers are actually divided against each other. America has succeeded in largely keeping rival European powers away from the battlefield. And although America is using Russia in Syria, it remains deeply suspicious of it, resulting in repeated conflict between America and Russia.
Any one of the major powers has overwhelming military capability compared to the few resources Muslims practically possess. But the sincere believers have a completely unmatched resource - the support of Allah (swt).
Clinton's Lead Over Trump Narrows in Last Two Weeks Before Election
Despite the most amazing allegations of misconduct against Donald Trump, electoral poll surveys indicate that American voters are still not prepared to vote overwhelmingly for Hilary Clinton. To add to Clinton's troubles, the FBI has reopened a probe into Hilary Clinton's email security from when she was Secretary of State.
Of course, in part, Clinton requires that the election be portrayed as a tight race until the end, in order to persuade her supporters of the desperate need to come out on election day to vote for her. But it is still astonishing that Clinton is so deeply unpopular in America that she is being seen as only slightly ahead of Trump at this stage. Clinton and Trump are considered the two most unpopular Presidential candidates in recent American history.
Muslims should gain insight into the true reality of democracy from these elections in 'the world's oldest democracy' and the superpower of the democratic age.
In fact, the American electorate is presented with a choice between two factions of the ruling elite, as is the case in many other so-called democratic countries, such as Britain.
It is a mistake to think that this is because America is not yet democratic enough. On the contrary, this is the true reality of democracy - a false dream to persuade the masses to support the elite.
Democracy is a theoretically invalid concept - it is not conceivably possible for hundreds of millions of people to practically devise complex legislation to run a modern state. Inevitably, the project is hijacked by the elite, able to rule for their own benefit with very little external limitations.
Xi Jinping named as 'Core' of the Communist Party
In a significant departure from the previous trend in China, President Xi Jinping has been named 'core' of the Communist Party at its four-day plenum which ended on Thursday.
Recent leaders had sought to downplay the element of personality in Chinese politics, as this was in contradiction to Communist thinking about collective leadership. Also, China suffered heavily from the violent oppression of the personality cult of its communist founder Mao Zedong, just as the Soviet Union suffered from the cult of Stalin.
In fact the Capitalist West also believes in collective leadership: the prime minister, for example, is understood to be 'first amongst equals' and not a supreme leader in his or her own right. In the presidential system power is kept divided between executive and legislative branches.
However, the reality of human nature is that decision-making requires a single ruler who takes ultimate responsibility for all state decisions. Islam is fully in conformity with human nature in all respects, and in this most important issue of ruling has determined that a single individual, the Khalifah, is responsible for decision-making. But by determining this explicitly, Islam has also provided the necessary safeguards to contain the ruler within the limits of Shar'a.
It is noteworthy that one of the last of the Khulafah, Sultan Abdul Hameed (raheemahu Allah), whom the West had portrayed as an imperial dictator, was removed after decades of rule by a simple legal device - a fatwa from the Sheikh al-Islam.
Insha'Allah, the return of the Righteous Khilafah "Caliphate" upon the method of the Prophethood is near, and the world will see again the true model of ruling and justice for mankind.
