Uzbekistan’s Relations with the Islamic Development Bank bear the Loss in Both Worlds

News

On 20 May, the “National Information Agency of Uzbekistan” reported: “The president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his visit to Saudi Arabia met with the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Bandar Hajar. The meeting noted the consistent development of the relations between Uzbekistan and IsDB, a large-scale cooperation of the parties in the development and implementation of projects in the social and economic direction. As a vivid confirmation of this is the investments of the Islamic Development Bank in such spheres in Uzbekistan as health care, education, irrigation and melioration, energy, water supply, municipal services, road infrastructure development, small business support”.

For many years, the previous head of Uzbekistan, I. Karimov, traveled through the countries and begged the money from the powers that would be used to develop the economy of Uzbekistan. Under the leadership of I. Karimov, Uzbekistan became a member of the IsDB in the fall of 2003. Just like the current president of Uzbekistan, Sh.Mirziyoyev, I.Karimov met with the previous president of the IsDB, Ahmed Muhammad Ali. They both agreed on a long-term cooperation.

According to the state sources, for more than 10 years of cooperation, dozens of projects have been implemented for the amount of more than $200 million. Currently, another 10 projects are being implemented for the amount of about $1 million. Only from these projects there is no any help to the people of Uzbekistan, and most of the money allocated for the implementation of these projects, was as usual stolen, and is being by officials and the powers. The people, I'm not afraid to say, hundreds of thousands go to earn money in distant countries without having an elementary opportunity to get a job at home and earn money for bread.

Founded in 1973 at the conference the “Organization of the Islamic Conference”, the “IsDB” is a taboo and ineffective in the Sharia. The so-called “Islamic Bank” is nothing but a product of the capitalist system. The main source of income in this organization is obtained at the expense of interest rates and invalid Sharia-compliant transactions. Moreover, this “IsDB” was invented by the disbelievers and implemented by the hands of the corrupt Muslim rulers who serve this disbelievers.

Firstly: “IsDB” is an instrument of the disbelievers for detaching and preventing Muslims from returning under the protection of the Islamic Economic System. Muslims refer to such organizations as “IsDB” seeking salvation of their financial problems or implement various kinds of projects in need of financing, forgetting that there is a right decision in Islam that will bring prosperity to their economy and welfare in both worlds. This, in turn, stops Muslims from working for the revival of the Islamic state, which will be guided by the divine revelation free from errors, vice and wickedness.

Secondly: “IsDB” serves as an instrument of political and economic pressure, and colonization of our countries. By giving large sums of money for the development of a particular economic sphere in the country, the disbelievers know that dictatorship and corruption rule in our countries. Officials and those in power definitely steal most of the money, which will inevitably lead the country into debt obligations, which in time will increase several times, due to the fact that they will be unpaid in time. This, in turn, will force the rulers of our countries to sign the contract necessary for the disbelieving colonialists to extract our natural resources, to carry out the necessary policy for them both in the country and in the region, they will force us to fight against the manifestation of Islam in any form, and much more.

Thirdly: Uzbekistan is rich in natural resources and is able to raise its economy itself, without any loans or money to implement dubious projects. The country is rich in oil, gas, iron ore, minerals, and precious metals like gold and silver. The fertile soil of Uzbekistan annually cultivates millions of tons of cotton and wheat on its fields. So where is all this wealth?! Why does the head of state have to bow to the powers of other countries and organizations in search of money and investments!?

Because these regular projects and money for the implementation of these projects are nothing but a trap and a deception for the people of Uzbekistan. The Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

«لَعَنَ اللَّهُ آكِلَ الرِّبَا وَمُؤَكِّلَهُ»

“Allah cursed the one who pays interest (riba) and the one who consumes it”. (Muslim, 1597; At-Tirmizi, 1206; Abu Dawood, 3333)

Allah Almighty says in His Noble Book:

(الَّذِينَ يَأْكُلُونَ الرِّبَا لاَ يَقُومُونَ إِلاَّ كَمَا يَقُومُ الَّذِي يَتَخَبَّطُهُ الشَّيْطَانُ مِنَ الْمَسِّ)

“Those who consume interest cannot stand [on the Day of Resurrection] except as one stands who is being beaten by Satan into insanity”. [2:275]
