Pakistan’s suffering won’t end unless it abandons the US war against the Muslims of our region
News
On 18th Feb 2018, Sunday, a number of people from different walks of life gathered at Matta Chowk in Khwazakhela and Nishat Chowk in Mingora against what they called unnecessary checking on security check posts in Swat. They also demanded removal of unnecessary check posts. "The unnecessary check posts be removed and the officials should treat the people politely," said Mohammad Riaz, a local elder and political leader who was participating in Khwazakhela gathering. Since the extra judicial murder of Naqeebullah Mehsud, aged 27, who hailed from Makin, South Waziristan, on 16th January 2018 in an alleged police encounter, a series of protests erupted from Karachi and spread from Islamabad to Federally Administrated Areas (FATA), and from swat in KPK Province to Zhob and Qila Saifullah in Balochistan province. Now these protests are being held under the name of Pashtun Tahafuz Movement or the protection of Pashtuns movement. These protestors first demanded the arrest of Rao Anwar, the police officer who killed Naqeebullah, but very soon it became a wider protest against the inhuman treatment by state authorities against Pashtun people. Now their demands include end of state's heavy handedness which it has justified in the name of "War on Terror", return of missing people who have taken into custody by security forces, removal of check posts and compensation for their losses so they could return to their areas after being forced to leave and live in camps due to military operations launched by the state.
Since 9/11, when the political and military leadership of Pakistan joined US "War on Terror" which is actually a war on Islam, Pakistan has been incurring huge human and financial loses. But after seventeen years one more dimension of this destructive and treacherous alliance has started to surface which is political and psychological. Displacement from native areas, enforced disappearances and ruthless treatment of the locals have made these Islam loving people so desperate that they are now on roads and are demanding to be treated as humans and equal citizens of this state.
This situation will continue to haunt and bleed Pakistan as long as the political and military leaderships of Pakistan continue with their treacherous alliance with the US. This policy of participating in the "War on Terror" has fractured our society as rulers and people are on two opposite sides where rulers continue to side with America while the masses hate America and its anti-Islam policies and wish for an end to alliance with the US. This policy is pushing the citizens away from the state weakening Pakistan which eventually may not even be able to stand in front of Indian aggression as a unified force essential to deter any enemy. Muslims of Pakistan and their armed forces love Islam and they want to follow the commands of Allah (swt) and wage Jihad against Kafir occupied forces but the traitor leadership is the main hurdle in accomplishing this desire. This anomaly can only be rectified by establishing Khilafah on the method of Prophethood which will end alliance with US, bring together the Armed Forces and the people making them as one enormous force and restore the dignity and pride of its people. Allah (swt) said,
“And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you lose courage and your strength depart, and be patient. Surely, Allah is with those who are the patient ones” [Al-Anfal:46]
