Turkey’s Record Number of Female MP’s will never deliver a System of Justice for Women

9th of June 2018, the BBC reported that “Turkey now has more female MPs than at any time in the 81 years since women in the country won the right to stand for election. Nearly every political party has a women's branch, and women get involved in campaigning before every election - often organising meetings and persuading others to vote a certain way. During the 1990s, Tansu Ciller served as Turkey's first female prime minister. However, she was one of only a handful of women MPs at the time.”
Comment:
When we understand that in every Liberal Democracy internationally there is a tidal wave of inequality in the amount women are payed for the same job as compared to men, in matters of career promotions and in issues of general respect and physical safety, the evidence shows that merely having greater numbers of women in an institution does not fundamentally change their experience of justice or give them greater human rights. On the 3rd of April 2018, The Financial Times reported that “More than half of British female MPs say they faced gender discrimination during their selection or election, according to a new poll. A ComRes survey poll for Young Women’s Trust found that 55 per cent of female MPs felt they were treated differently…. such as gendered questions about how they might cope with having children and being in parliament or if they would cut it in politics because it is too aggressive and male. Other examples include more explicit cases of sexual harassment.”
Turkey has its own epidemic levels of trafficking in females, which is a product of its capitalistic economic system and failed liberal policies these are not something that female politicians can fundamentally change. Turkey has signed an agreement with the European Union to close it boarders to millions of Syrian refugees, most of whom are women and children, again this is a policy that cannot be reversed simply by female numbers. Turkey has epidemic levels of domestic violence and growing social dysfunctions in the youth which are just a few factors directly related to the secular political law making system that female MP’s must follow. The women entering into the parliament are obliged to protect this system that abandons the comprehensive justice and wisdom of Allah (swt) and as such will have no means to serve women in the manner that they deserve.
It is only the system of the Khilafah (Caliphate) that can give women their rights as the laws come from the Creator, and serve male and female in the most just and correct manner. It is irrelevant whether we have a certain number of women in particular positions of power as their role is to implement the law, not make it. Allah (swt) informs us in Surah 12 verse 40
﴿إِنِ الْحُكْمُ إِلاَّ لِلّهِ أَمَرَ أَلاَّ تَعْبُدُواْ إِلاَّ إِيَّاهُ ذَلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلَـكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لاَ يَعْلَمُونَ﴾
“The Hukm (Legislating, Commands, Judgment) is for none but Allah. He has commanded that you worship none but Him, that is the (true) straight religion, but most men know not.” [Qur’an Chapter 12: 40]
When we as Muslims abandon these false measure of progress, it is only then that we will truly elevate ourselves and the rest of humanity by the greatest system - Islam, which is unrelated to whether this system has the greatest number of women in power. Its success and the progress of society was and is possible due to the complete system and laws of Allah (swt) being implemented without compromise as it is a system that does not serve the interests of a select elite but protects the truth removing all people from the oppression of manmade laws.
