WE DEMAND RELEASE OF DETAINEES
News:
On 09/07/2020, families of three detainees in Dar es Salaam held a press conference to demand release of their beloved ones, who have been held on suspicion of terrorism and without trial or bail for nearly three years!
Comment:
The families of detainees: Ustadh Ramadhan Moshi Kakoso, Wazir Suleiman Mkaliaganda and Omar Salum Bumbo, all members of Hizb ut Tahrir raised their serious concerns and questioned to judiciary institution in Tanzania, why should their relatives being not given a proper and just legal proceeding enabling their case from being heard, granted bail or being set free, since three years.
Apart from Hizb ut Tahrir activists, many other Muslims detainees among scholars and activists from Uamsho organization facing the same circumstances even harder, of being held for more than seven years now, harshly victimized and suffered in squalid detentions.
Though these injustices victimize other people, Muslims are highly affected and most targeted. Through foreign and colonial war on terror propaganda, security apparatus everywhere including Tanzania used it as an excuse to kill, torture, abduct, and detain many Muslims, including activists and scholars for years without trial.
This scenario exposes existence of unfairness and bias in the administration of justice by detaining without trial for years in the name of investigation is still going on to compile evidence. This clearly implies an oppressive notion of ‘arrest first, and conduct investigation later’.
The so-called terrorists ambush is common matter especially in the Muslims majority region where many innocent people have suffered and affected for the sake of satisfying colonial Capitalists’ agenda.
Once Tanzania's Opposition stated that, at least 380 people have been abducted and disappeared in a government crackdown against suspected Islamists on the Southern Coastline. Some MP’s even asked parliament to form an investigation team to probe on the issue, claimed that the crackdown was not conducted within the scope of law, characterized by human-rights violations, including torture and extrajudicial killings. (The East African, 05/05/2018).
There is a high level of suspicion to any sane person on how most terrorist cases are being handled in Tanzania and elsewhere, arises many fundamental questions, why evidence is not deduced before the court of law? Why are detainees are not given right to trial in reasonable time? why detainees are not released on bail? Why is there a sense of scaring and some sort of hiding in these cases? And so on. The only conclusion is existence of an oppressive agenda in the pretext of combating terrorism.
We appeal to the Islamic Ummah and all with the sense of humanity in their hearts to stand against this oppression and injustice. We must tirelessly raise our voices on issues of detainees being held without trials, being deprived right to bail, existence of indefinite period in adducement of evidence, as well as against abduction and the colonial and racist Terrorism Act.
We remind Muslims and non-Muslims that the human suffering today is a product of evil capitalist ideology that does not care for anything even laws being made by their own hands. It is only through Islamic state of Khilafah (Caliphate) that justice will prevail and protection of justice, dignity, blood, wealth and etc.
