Children in Europe Exposed to Obscene TV-Show

The Danish state-owned public service company DR, has launched an animated TV-show on its children channel “DR Ramasjang”, depicting a fictional doll as a man with a large private part, which is visible in every episode. The target group is declared to be children from the age of 4 to 8. The creative director of the animated series argues that the program is supposed to “mirror the curiosity of children towards sexuality and the human body”. The same channel made another show recently, where children were exposed to looking at nude adults, supposedly as a means of education about the human body. Other European countries such as Holland have praised the show.

Comment:

Western societies are often described as hypersexualized. Denmark is particularly known for the sexual liberalization that took place through the 60’s and the 70’s, where child pornography was made legal. Denmark was also the first country to legalize pornography, and the educational curricula and media are staunchly influencing children with what is described as the Danish view on tolerance and freedom.

In European countries such as the UK and Denmark, children go through sexual education as early as in primary school. These are attempts at stripping children of the shyness and shame that are inherently parts of their innate nature (fitra). Psychologists advocate such programs, cartoons, and comics as entertaining means of learning, which directly provoke children to explore sexuality and consequently become familiar with obscenity and indecency, while supposedly teaching children to know right from wrong.

Western societies are not capable of distinguishing right from wrong, neither culturally, morally, or by law, and the many problems with the liberal culture are ignored in the name of personal liberty. How can one then expect a TV show made up of profanities to teach children right from wrong?

Western politicians were in fact under the spotlight in the media, due to numerous cases of sexual harassment by male politicians towards females, in additions to an ongoing debate about the #MeToo movement. These cases were revealed by many women, that were either pressured to anonymity, or openly revealing their cases, some even after years of silence. During a week, two renowned politicians had left their positions, after getting exposed to the public by media. These cases tell a woeful tale of a corrupt view towards women, which is connected to the liberal behavior that stems from the Western culture and personal liberty.

In Islam, Haya, chastity and protecting the family life are central elements in raising children, whereby the coming generations are protected. It also guards children from topics that are not of their concern, so that their innocence is undisturbed.The Western culture shows its fallacies time after time, and it is obvious that there is no goodness or value found in this culture, which is forced upon the Muslims through various means.

Islam is the great message from Allah (swt), which the Muslims hold onto firmly. Islam contains solutions to all human problems, including the social, mental, and moral calamities that are widespread in the West, including Denmark.

[فَأَقِمْ وَجْهَكَ لِلدِّينِ حَنِيفًا فِطْرَتَ اللَّهِ الَّتِي فَطَرَ النَّاسَ عَلَيْهَا لَا تَبْدِيلَ لِخَلْقِ اللَّهِ ذَٰلِكَ الدِّينُ الْقَيِّمُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ]
