Sudanese Women and Children are Left Abandoned by the World without the Khilafah

The BBC has reported that in the current Sudan crisis, the number of internally displaced people has risen to more than 700,000. Air strikes and ground battles continue in the capital Khartoum with entire neighbourhoods becoming empty as residents flee their homes. Mr. Paul Dillon, a spokesman for the UN's International Organization for Migration, said people were running out of cash, and basic supplies like fuel. "The ATMs aren't working and the banking system is not functioning. Fuel is difficult to come by and expensive," he added.

The desperate struggle to escape the violence and lawlessness that has engulfed Sudan is a reality for thousands of women and children. In a current UN report, Olga Sarrado, told journalists in Geneva that many of the seven neighbouring countries are already hosting large numbers of refugee and internally displaced populations.

“The majority remain severely underfunded. Asylum countries will need additional support to provide protection and assistance. Among the urgent needs are water, food, shelter, healthcare, relief items, gender-based violence response and prevention, and child protection services.”

With civilians continuing to be caught in the crossfire between the warring militaries – with much of the fighting taking place in urban areas - the World Health Organization is warning that “many will die” due to lack of essential services, as well as disease outbreaks, said UN Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq, at the regular briefing in New York on Tuesday.

ReliefWeb reports that at least 450,000 children have been forced to flee their homes.

It is a great shame that the lives of so many have random access to relief, and only those that happen to be able to get to aid points will benefit. This is not the circumstances permitted in the Sharia Laws.  'Uthman bin 'Affan (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (saw) said, «لَيْسَ لِابْنِ آدَمَ حَقٌّ فِي سِوَى هَذِهِ الْخِصَالِ: بَيْتٌ يَسْكُنُهُ وَثَوْبٌ يُوَارِي عَوْرَتَهُ وَجِلْفُ الْخُبْزِ وَالْمَاءِ» “There is no right that the son of Adam is more entitled to other than these (four), rights: A home to live in, a garment to cover his nakedness, a piece of bread, and water.” [At-Tirmidhi].

We as an Ummah cannot stand by and accept this random act of distribution of rights as normal. We must see each other as a brotherhood and work for the Khilafah (Caliphate) that is an order of Allah (swt) so that the rights of each and every creation of Allah (swt) is realised.
