Fearful West Trying to Misguide and De-Rail the Ummah from Halfway towards Victory

The UK-based media house, The Economist, has named Bangladesh as “Country of the Year,” claiming that the nation has shown the most remarkable improvement over the past year. “Our winner is Bangladesh, which overthrew an autocrat. In August student-led street protests forced out Sheikh Hasina, who had ruled the country of 175 million for 15 years. A daughter of an independence hero, but became repressive, rigging elections, jailing opponents and ordering the security forces to shoot protesters. Huge sums of money were stolen on her watch,” The Economist report said. (Firstpost, December 20, 2024).

Comment:

Western values are to blame for the creation of autocrats, dictators and oppressors in the Muslim lands. Freedom is the cornerstone of the Western Capitalist Civilization, which believes and describes men as free. Andrew Heywood states in his book ‘Key Concepts of Politics and International Relations’, that, “Freedom is considered to be the supreme political value in Western liberal societies”. A free man is he who is not subjected to external constraints or coercive force whether material, moral or spiritual, from outside of him. This is the basis upon which the whole Western Capitalist Civilization is built. This idea of freedom consists of doing whatever a person likes that doesn’t ‘harm others’; however, what constitutes harming others can only be determined and defined by the law! That means, the rulers possesses what is called ‘absolute freedom’ as they have legislative authority and determine what the law is. This legislative authority of the rulers, which stands on the idea of freedom, is the main culprit that gives birth to autocrats, dictators and oppressors. Western world shows a criticizing stance on the autocrats or dictators; however, their so called ‘democratic rulers’ are also oppressors on the same ground and they dictate every matter relating to intellectual, economic, social and political affairs by enacting laws that suit their evil interests.

The Economist or the Western world did not ever label Hasina as an ‘autocrat’ in her 16 years of oppressive rule. Even after conducting three consecutive farcical elections, jailing her liberal opponents, committing extra judicial killings, looting and plundering every possible sector of the country’s economy and suppressing ideological Islam, the Economist called her Asia’s iron lady and labeled her rule as loving ‘one party rule’! The Western so called liberal States invited and hosted her many times, provided her guidance and advice and harnessed acceptability for her to remain in power, as she upheld their liberal values and fought the rise of ideological Islam. Surprisingly, after the fall, she overnight became an ‘autocrat’ in their eyes! In reality, the West has adopted a stance that goes alongside the public sentiments on the ground and at the same time manipulates the public sentiments to keep their evil liberal values intact and beyond questioning. Merely dethroning an autocrat by keeping the Western values is not a success, nor is it a victory. However, by portraying this as a victory and ‘second liberation’ the Western world is trying to create a false satisfaction among the Muslims in Bangladesh. Declaring Bangladesh as the ‘country of the year’ is just a cheap fuel in that false satisfaction.

The Muslims in Bangladesh should be very careful of this Western agenda of keeping Western values like freedom and liberalism intact in our ruling system by creating false satisfactions and misleading the people with hollow words like nation building, reconstruction, strengthening democracy and state institutions. If these Western values remain as the basis of our ruing system, then the rulers will continue to possess legislative authority and they will continue to oppress on the people by dictating every matter relating to economic, social, intellectual and political affairs through enacting laws that suit the evil interest of them and their foreign masters. Dethroning and ousting murderer Hasina is indeed a big success, but it’s only halfway towards victory. To achieve the desired victory, Muslims need to travel the full distance ignoring the lame excuses circulated by the cronies of the Western kuffar states that intend to stop the winning march. The remaining distance is to dethrone and exile all Western values, including freedom, liberalism and democracy (lawmaking belongs to rulers); and giving authority to the sincere political movement Hizb ut Tahrir for implementing the ideological Islamic project, the Caliphate on the method of Prophethood. Only then, our kuffar enemies would be crippled and we will gain the upper hand by following the Divine Guidance from Allah Azza wa Jaal.
