Trump Entrusts Syria to President Erdoğan

A phone call was held between Turkish President Erdoğan and US President Trump on March 16, 2025. During the conversation, Trump told Erdogan: "Syria is in your keeping, Mr. President! We trust Türkiye in the region, especially in Syria. Syria is in Türkiye’s keeping. Our Ambassador Tom Barrack, who will take office soon, is at your service, Mr. President. You can contact him directly. There is no need for any other mediator."

Comment:

These statements were accepted as a praise by the ruling circles in Türkiye. In reality, it is not a praise, but a summary of the background of the recent developments in Syria and a confession that Türkiye is acting together with the US in Syria.

When the actions and statements of the new administration in Syria, which was formed as a result of the overthrow of the Assad regime by the Turkish-backed opposition forces without encountering any resistance, are examined, it will be clearly seen that a secular nation-state was tried to be implemented as a westernization project and the Islamic character of the revolution was tried to be destroyed.

The US-brokered agreement between the YPG/PYD Kurdish organization known as the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in northeastern Syria and the new Syrian provisional constitution are clear indicators of Turkish and American influence on the Syrian government.

Moreover, the bombing of military and strategic facilities in Syria by the usurping Jewish entity after the fall of the Assad regime has significantly damaged Syria's statehood dynamics.

Despite these ongoing attacks and the expansion of the occupation by Jewish entity around the Golan Heights, the fact that the Turkish and the new Syrian administrations have not taken any concrete steps to prevent these attacks and occupation, shows that the Turkish and Syrian administrations are acting in accordance with America's plans and interests in ensuring the security of the Jewish entity, which is the most important issue of America's Middle East policy.

We have not heard anyone, neither from the Turkish nor the new Syrian administration, say whether Trump is the owner of Syria, that he is entrusting Syria to Türkiye, who is Trump?

For eyes that see and ears that hear, Trump's statements are a great humiliation and a shameful reality for Türkiye and Syria's new rulers.

All that remains for the blind and the deaf is to try to make excuses to deceive themselves and their people in the name of America's interests.

It is nothing but political suicide and political bankruptcy for these governments to hand over the important affairs of Muslims to the enemies of Muslims and Islam, and to seek honor and dignity with the colonial kuffar.
