Corruption in Uzbekistan Is a Consequence of the Implementation of Democracy

News:

On 26 December, IA gazeta.uz reported: "The President of Uzbekistan has declared a “state of emergency” in the fight against corruption. The President of Uzbekistan called corruption a key threat to the country's development and announced a new anti-corruption control system starting in 2026. It will be implemented in all departments starting on 1 January. "Those who think, “I have a position and a title, no one will touch me,” are mistaken in Uzbekistan. Everyone is equal before the law! Internal affairs agencies, the prosecutor's office, tax and customs authorities, financial and banking structures, large state-owned companies, ministries and hokimiyats — in short, no agency or organisation will remain outside of control," Mirziyoyev warned.

Comment:

Today in Uzbekistan, corruption is the norm and is present in all structures of administration and government. For example, it is no secret that there is a certain rate for the position of mayor of a city or region. Admission to universities or final exams are impossible without bribes. People join the police to earn money from bribes, not to protect the people from criminals. This is the reality of Uzbekistan today. So why is this happening!?

Uzbekistan's legislation states that corruption is defined as the unlawful use by a person of their official or professional position for the purpose of obtaining material or non-material benefits for themselves or others, as well as the unlawful provision of such benefits.

If these laws are applied to the president and his relatives in power, it turns out that the first corrupt official in the state is the president himself. The president and his relatives use their official position to gain power and plunder the country's wealth. Those in power take billions of dollars out of the country and keep them in foreign banks. Who can judge the president or his relatives? Why do the laws not apply to the head of state? Why are the people suffering under the weight of corruption schemes?

This is because this system is based on the man-made idea of separating religion from life, the dictatorship of democracy. As long as this vicious system is imposed on the people, corruption will continue to exist, and those in power will take advantage of this system. We are Muslims and our religion is Islam. We need to seek a solution from Allah.

Muslims who call for truth and right decisions are in prison. We Muslims are accused of spreading turmoil and wickedness and destabilising peace and prosperity in the country. This is how corrupt authorities seek to justify their crimes. Meanwhile, Allah the Almighty gives examples in the Quran that:

[وَقَالَ الْمَلأُ مِن قَوْمِ فِرْعَونَ أَتَذَرُ مُوسَى وَقَوْمَهُ لِيُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ وَيَذَرَكَ وَآلِهَتَكَ]

“The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people protested, “Are you going to leave Moses and his people free to spread corruption in the land and abandon you and your gods?” [7:127].

The chiefs of Pharaoh’s people said that the prophet Musa (peace be upon him) and his people were wicked and did evil, while Pharaoh was good and did good. Today, the same thing is happening: the president's entourage and the president himself present themselves as pious fighters for justice. At the same time, those who guide them to the path of truth and call them to Islam are accused of crimes and thrown into prison.

The authorities live by laws that they themselves have invented and then violate. And when you guide these authorities and call them to Islam, they accuse us of all their problems. Allah the Almighty says about such wicked people in the Quran:

[وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لاَ تُفْسِدُواْ فِي الأَرْضِ قَالُواْ إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ * أَلا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـكِن لاَّ يَشْعُرُونَ]

“When they are told, “Do not spread corruption in the land,” they reply, “We are only peace-makers!” Indeed, it is they who are the corruptors, but they fail to perceive it” [2:11-12].

Refusal to implement Allah's legislation and implementation of man-made laws is corruption. Corruption cannot be eradicated when a man-made system is implemented. It can only be eliminated with the help of the Islamic system of government through Khilafah (Caliphate). To achieve this, Muslims must join in the effort to restore the Islamic way of life under the just laws of Allah.

And soon the prophecy of the Prophet Muhammad (saw) will come true.

«ثُمَّ تَكُونُ مُلْكًا جَبْرِيَّةً فَتَكُونُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ تَكُونَ ثُمَّ يَرْفَعُهَا إِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَرْفَعَهَا ثُمَّ تَكُونُ خِلَافَةً عَلَى مِنْهَاجِ النُّبُوَّةِ ثُمَّ سَكَتَ»

“...Then there will be a period of tyranny, which will last as long as Allah wills. Then, when Allah wills, it will end. Then there will be a period of the Khilafah (Caliphate) based on the method of Prophethood,” and then he fell silent”.(Ahmad)
