The British Via Commonwealth Platform Cunningly Preserve Her Influence in Tanzania

News:

On April 8, 2026, Commonwealth Special Envoy, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, former Malawi President arrived in Dar es Salaam to foster dialogue with stakeholders on easing political tension and grievances following the October 29,2025 general election. The Special Envoy was appointed on November 17, 2025 as part of the Commonwealth’s efforts to address Tanzania’s 2025 general election violence.

Comment:

After Structural Adjustment Programs (SAPs) in the 1980’s imposed on Tanzania and in developing nations by capitalist nations via the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank which focused and pushed for neo-liberal economic and political strategies, including privatization, deregulation, trade liberalization, and deep cuts to public spending and etc.

On the political side, Tanzania adopted a multi-party system in 1992 after thirty years of single party rule, legalizing opposition parties, although the Chama Cha Mapinduzi(CCM) has remained the dominant ruling party in every general election since.

While officially Tanzania enjoys a multi-party democracy with its first election in 1995, the political landscape is characterized with incessant violence in every election. In 2025 general election of second term of President Samia, the poll was swept over with harsh violence for several days from October 29, 2025 caused devastated loss in terms of lives, properties and public infrastructures.

Also, among the worst violence related to the election was 2000 in Zanzibar whereby 35 people were killed, 600 injured and about 2000 fled to Kenya. Since Tanzania is under the British influence from the colonial era to her flag independence in 1961, Britain as an influential master always takes strong initiatives to intervene whenever political instability emerges via her Commonwealth platform to rescue and stabilize her influence and power as well as to bar American takeover. For instance, in 1996 when political tension and stalemate occurred in Zanzibar between CCM and CUF, the Commonwealth sent her Secretary-General, Chief Emeka Anyaoku as a key diplomatic broker of power-sharing to form a deal between the two opposing political parties.

In the real sense the Commonwealth envoys do not come to solve political tension since democracy is inherent with violence and tension, a clear example is in Zanzibar, whereas there is still wavering in political instability. But their main objective of the Commonwealth is to preserve and sustain British influence in the area.

Furthermore, these envoys reveal a harsh reality that the developing countries in Africa and elsewhere are not free, independent and capable of solving their problems. Above all, neither their regional organizations such as the East African Community nor their continental organizations as African Union (AU) can provide real rescue, nor decide or solve anything for their countries, instead they have to receive orders and false solutions from the colonizers from London, Washington, Paris, etc.

The colonizers, the Western capitalist countries are always supporting chaos, violence and bloodshed in Africa using antagonistic parties and arming groups for their own interests, both political and economic. Once blood is shed they would bring envoys, create commissions and sent delegations not to investigate the matter, but as a submissive tool on developing countries governments. Africa has never been in peace and stability since the invasion of the Western colonizers and even after the attainment of her flag independence in 1960’s.It’s high time for people of Africa to embrace and support Islam, that via its Khilafah (Caliphate) State would bring peace, justice, stop bloodshed and exploitation to Muslims and humanity, as well as physically expelling all colonizers like what happened when the Portuguese invaded East Africa in 17th century CE.
