For those who drive policy and generate public opinion in the Muslim states, understanding the changes and the nuances in the American strategic vision for the Muslim World is critical. In addition, there are significant recent shifts due to Trump’s “America First” policy. Trump is passing on the burden of global policing to secure US interests onto regional blocs of Muslim states, especially after the military strikes on its bases in the Middle East.
America is a colonialist state of the first order, no less in its mischief and cruelty than the European colonialist states. America has clearly wanted, since emerging victorious from World War II, and in a far better state than its European allies, to make the world's states subservient to it, or subject to its will, or obedient to its orders, and not deviate from its plans. In all this, it has followed the pattern of how its founding generation initially invaded North America, establishing their dominance upon the skull and bones of the original, native population, the Native Americans, who were demonized in Hollywood as tomahawk-wielding “Red Indians.”
The Western occupiers deceived the Native Americans using political treaties, choked them using economic siege and slaughtered them in huge numbers with scorched-earth war tactics. Encouraged by their success against the Native Americans, the Americans used the Monroe Doctrine as a cover to use their brutal tactics upon the people of Central and South America, as a prelude to unleashing their mischief upon the peoples of the entire world. And the pitiful situation of Native Americans in their reservations today is a bleak warning for any people of the world that are naive regarding the crooked smiles and hollow promises of the Americans. The US capitalist elite sees no moral obstacle to depriving people of the riches under their own feet.
Control Over Energy Resources and Their Maritime Routes
Critically, the US capitalist deep state, the constant driver regardless of the facade of elections, has sought control of the world’s energy resources and their vital sea routes, to the point that one of its determinations for entering World War II was to seize the Gulf oil region from Britain.
As the Anglo-American conflict over control over the oil of Muslims increased, Edward Nicolae Luttwak, the American strategist and author of the famous book, “Coup d'État: A Practical Handbook,” published a significant article. In March 1975, in an article entitled “Seizing Arab Oil,” published in Harper’s Magazine under the Latin pseudonym “Miles Ignotus,” which means “unknown soldier,” Luttwak whipped up American greed over the oil treasure of the Gulf, to drive American strategic vision for the Muslim World. Kissinger spoke of the imperative to “break the oil cartel’s power” and bluntly stated, “an occupation of ten years and probably much less would suffice. Once the dust of the invasion settled, once every evidence of permanent intent became apparent, the remaining members of OPEC would see reason, and accept a binding commitment to maintain supplies at agreed prices in exchange for American withdrawal.”
London was naturally alarmed, for it had, since 1960, succeeded in exploiting Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) to control the oil sector, including production, marketing, and pricing. However, the US succeeded in linking oil to the dollar and making the dollar the primary currency. In its pursuit of dominance of energy, America was not content with that alone. It sought to reach a stage where it subjugates others to become its agents in order to control energy resources and their vital sea routes. America followed this path, even reaching a point, during the era of George W. Bush, the son, where it stormed the Muslim World to recolonize it militarily once again, decades after the withdrawal of the French and British armed forces. From the narrow perspective of the energy equation in the Gulf States, American control of Afghanistan and Pakistan is a bulwark against Russian and Chinese influence within them. So, the US invaded Afghanistan in 2001 with the indispensable help of its agents in Pakistan, and occupied it, bringing with it the NATO coalition. From the broader perspective of controlling the Middle East, Iraq is a major part of the historically strategic Mesopotamia. Thus, on 2003, the US occupied Iraq, with the help of its followers in Türkiye and Iran. Washington even sought deployment of troops from Pakistan, which its good people of Islam prevented.
The Shift From Direct Intervention to Exploiting the Region’s Armies
Dealing with Muslims is not like dealing with the Native Americans, or Central or South America, including its larger states such as Venezuela. America was shocked when the Muslims of Afghanistan and Iraq inflicted heavy losses on America, forcing it to depend more on the armies of its regional agents and followers. After the enormous economic losses in Afghanistan and Iraq, exceeding five trillion dollars, and the significant military losses, America realized that it was not in its interest to engage directly in wars. America then focused on alliances with the rulers of Muslims so that it fully benefits from their armies.
The current US president, Donald Trump, does not want to participate in large-scale wars against the Muslims, and has had a painful reminder after falling into a quagmire by war on the Muslims of Iran, miscalculating that it would be a walk in the park like Venezuela. However, asides from his catastrophic miscalculation over Iran, Trump’s National Security Strategy underlines a commitment that the US would not engage in any large-scale or direct wars in the Middle East.
The National Security Strategy (NSS) released on Friday 5 December 2025 restated American interests over the oil-rich Gulf, the vital sea routes within Muslim Lands and the US forward military base in the Muslim World, the Jewish entity. It said, “America will always have core interests in ensuring that Gulf energy supplies do not fall into the hands of an outright enemy, that the Strait of Hormuz remain open, that the Red Sea remain navigable, that the region not be an incubator or exporter of terror against American interests or the American homeland, and that Israel remain secure.”
Significantly, the National Security Strategy (NSS) underlined a commitment not to undertake direct wars that will exhaust the American military. It states, “We can and must address this threat ideologically and militarily without decades of fruitless “nation-building” wars.” It thus laid the basis for exploiting the armies of the Muslim World through alliances, stating, “We also have a clear interest in expanding the Abraham Accords to more nations in the region and to other countries in the Muslim world.” It is within this context that Trump is frantically spinning a web of alliances to tie all of his agents and followers strongly to the US strategic vision, whether it is his Board of Peace (BoP), signed on 22 January 2026, or the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement of 7 August 2026.
So now America will deprive the Muslims of the riches of their own land, by using their own warriors and weapons against them, a humiliating feat that it did not even achieve against the Native Americans!
O Muslims and Their Armies!
Allah (swt) warned us,
“Neither those who disbelieve among the People of the Book nor Al-Mushrikeen (polytheists) like that there should be sent down unto you any good from your Lord. And Allah bestows grace upon whom He chooses- for Allah is limitless in His great bounty” [TMQ Surah Al-Baqarah:105]. American neocolonialism has impoverished us, whilst Allah (swt) has blessed us with an abundance of the world’s most valuable resources.
From the energy perspective, we are not only blessed with oil, we also have an abundance of Rare Earth Elements (REEs), which are the backbone of electrical power. Electric vehicle (EV) motors rely heavily on strong permanent magnets made from neodymium, dysprosium, praseodymium, and terbium. Lanthanum and related lanthanides are used in specific battery and hydrogen storage technologies, whilst primary battery chemistry depends on lithium. Even yttrium, lanthanum, and cerium are used in ceramic capacitors and internal sensors within solar inverters.
Yet, despite all our riches, if we allow the current rulers to continue in their present course, we are looking at a fate similar to that of the Native Americans, living in severe poverty and humiliation, whilst foreign usurpers loot us and dominate our affairs. However, we are also facing the additional humiliation of our own soldiers serving the interests of our enemies through alliances.
Is it not time that we firmed our commitment to the Deen and joined our night with our days in the Dawah to Islam? Is it not time that we strove with Hizb ut Tahrir to establish the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of the Prophethood? Is it not time that we demanded our armies uproot the current rulers and grant their nussrah (military support) to the eminent ‘alim, Sheikh Ata Bin Khalil Abu al-Rashtah, pledging a Bay’ah of allegiance to him as a Khaleefah (Caliph) to lead the Islamic Ummah in forcing the retreat of the Western colonialism?
