Hizb ut-Tahrir/ Indonesia delegation meets Egyptian/Lebanese ambassadors

After delivering a speech in front of the US embassy, the demonstrators of Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia (HTI) marched to the Lebanese Embassy located in Kuningan area, Jakarta. The representatives of HTI were received by the Lebanese Ambassador for Indonesia, Victor Zmeter. HTI submitted the nasyrah for him and asked Lebanon to stand guard over the Palestinians. The Ambassador stated that the problem of Palestine is a humanitarian problem and not the problem of the Muslim ummah. He hoped that all countries can stop the brutality of Israel. He promised to convey the demand HTI to the Lebanese government.

After demonstrating in front of the US embassy, the protesters marched to the Iranian embassy. The representatives expected to be able to meet with the Iranian Ambassador. Unfortunately, the representatives were only received in the yard of the embassy for 5 minutes. The representatives submitted the statement of HTI in Arabic. M Rahmat Kurnia, one of the representatives then expressed disappointment to the Iranian embassy from top of the car carrying the sound system. The protesters then replied by chanting "Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi raaji'un". Around 2 hours later, the public relation officer of the embassy called and asked for forgiveness for the unfriendly acceptance.

The last visit was to the Egyptian embassy. The Egyptian ambassador, Ahmed el Kewaisny, received the delegate. He explained that Egypt can not do much and said that Palestine should unite in order to fight against Israel. But, he said, the effort to unite Fatah and Hamas is hard to realize. He also said that his government has no power over the 40 kilometers border with Israel. And so far he claimed that his government has helped Palestine with food and medicine.

The representative responded to the statement of the ambassador by saying that the root problem of Palestine is the disunity of the Muslim ummah. Each of the countries is busy with their own interests. That is why the ummah should unite under the banner of Khilafah "Caliphate" as it was set an example by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم and his companions. The ambassador replied that that is the dream of all Muslims.
