Part 1

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

إن الحمد لله نحمده و نستعينه و نستغفره، و نعوذ بالله من شرور أنفسنا و سيئات أعمالنا، من يهد الله فلا مضل له و من يضلل فلا هاديَ له و أشهد أن لا اله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له و أشهد أن محمدا عبده و رسوله

أما بعد: فإن أصدقَ الحديثِ كتابُ الله تعالى و أَحسَنَ الهَدْيِ هَديُ محَمّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم و شرُّ الأمورِ محدثاتَها و كل محدثةٍ بدعةٌ و كلُّ بِدعةٍ ضلالة و كلُّ ضلالةٍ في النار.

قال الله في كتابه المجيد

يا أيها الذين آمنوا اتقوا الله حق تقاته ولا تموتن إلا وأنتم مسلمون

My dear brothers in Islam,

On Wednesday 6th December 17, the American President Donald Trump announced to the world that America recognises Jerusalem to be the capital of the Zionists occupation. He said,

“However, through all of these years, presidents representing the United States have declined to recognise Jerusalem as Israel’s capital officially. In fact, we have declined to acknowledge any Israeli capital at all. But today, we finally acknowledge the obvious: that Jerusalem is Israel’s capital. This is nothing more, or less, than a recognition of reality. It is also the right thing to do. It’s something that has to be done.”

My dear brothers in Islam,

So how should we as Muslims react to such a statement?

It is no surprise that American government is a major backer of the Zionist occupation, to expect anything less is to be politically naive. The American track record in providing political, economic and moral support to the Zionists occupiers over the last 70 years is well documented. Therefore, this announcement should not be a surprise.

Moreover, Trump has the gall to say that America is calling for peace, he unashamedly says: “The United States remains deeply committed to helping facilitate a peace agreement that is acceptable to both sides.”

Only the foolish and the gullible will fall for such lies and propaganda. The whole world knows that America does not care about slogans of ‘peace’ and ‘human rights.’ America only cares about its national interest. In the case of Palestine, American policy is clear, that is to continue to maintain its grip on the region, and the Zionist occupation is one of its tools.

If the political realities don’t convince us that America is no friend of the Muslims of Palestine and an ‘honest’ broker of peace, then let us reflect on the saying of Allah (swt):

وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ لَا تُفْسِدُوا فِي الْأَرْضِ قَالُوا إِنَّمَا نَحْنُ مُصْلِحُونَ أَلَا إِنَّهُمْ هُمُ الْمُفْسِدُونَ وَلَـٰكِن لَّا يَشْعُرُون

And when it is said to them, Do not make mischief in the land, they say: We are but peace-makers. Now surely they themselves are the mischief makers, but they do not perceive. [Surah Al-Baqarah:11-12]

My dear brothers in Islam,

What about the reactions of the ‘Arab Rulers’ and ‘ Muslims rulers’?

As usual, the reaction has been weak and feeble condemnations, we have heard the Turkish President Erdogan said is a ‘red line’, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman told Trump “would constitute a flagrant provocation of Muslims, all over the world” and Egypt’s President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi, who warned against “complicating the situation in the region by introducing measures that would undermine chances for peace in the Middle East”. There is no need to mention the other leaders’ disgracing and impotent comments. All of these comments are there to appease the anger of the Muslims and to hinder any real change.

In fact, these rulers are the real obstacle to bringing about the liberation of the whole of Palestine; it is the rulers who conspire with the Zionist occupation and give it legitimacy.

These rulers instead of following the footsteps of our great rulers of the past like Umar Bin Al-Khattab رضي الله عنه who conquered Palestine, Salahuddin Al Ayubi who liberated it and Sultan Abdul Hamid II who defended it. It is these rulers who are the ones who protect this Zionist occupation through backdoor negotiations and following the edicts of America and other colonialist’s powers. They are the real fitnah for this Ummah

Thawban narrated that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:

إِنَّمَا أَخَافُ عَلَى أُمَّتِي الْأَئِمَّةَ الْمُضِلِّينَ

The only fear I have for my Ummah are astray leaders (who will lead them astray) [Ahmed/ Tirmidhi]

My dear brothers in Islam,

Is the so-called ‘two-state solution’ a solution?

We have heard some are against Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the Zionist capital because it is against the so-called peace process which will lead to the ‘two-state’ solution based on the 1967 borders and that the Future of Jerusalem is part of the final status talks and can’t unilaterally be decided by America and the Zionists occupiers.

Regarding this so-called two-state solution, we need to know two important facts:

1. Even if there is the so-called two-state solution, a state for the Palestinian a state for the Zionists. We should ask what kind of state it will be for the Palestinians? It is known that West Bank and Gaza cannot be a real state given that its security, economy, defense, and politics will subservient to the Israeli interests. It will be stated by name only, but in reality, the occupation will continue under the guise of so called ‘independence.’
2. The two-state solution and path of negotiations is a path to surrendering 78% of the land of Palestine to the occupiers, even if East Jerusalem is made the Palestinian capital. From the Islamic point of view this wholly forbidden (haram). To surrender Islamic lands is considered a betrayal to Allah (swt), His Messenger (saw) and the Muslim Ummah.

Allah (swt) has categorically forbidden any negotiations and peace treaties that surrender Islamic lands, this a certain matter in our Deen.

 إِنَّمَا يَنْهَاكُمُ اللَّـهُ عَنِ الَّذِينَ قَاتَلُوكُمْ فِي الدِّينِ وَأَخْرَجُوكُم مِّن دِيَارِكُمْ وَظَاهَرُوا عَلَىٰ إِخْرَاجِكُمْ أَن تَوَلَّوْهُمْ وَمَن يَتَوَلَّهُمْ فَأُولَـٰئِكَ هُمُ الظَّالِمُون

Allah only forbids you respecting those who made war upon you on account of (your) religion, and drove you forth from your homes and backed up (others) in your expulsion, that you make friends with them, and whoever makes friends with them, these are the unjust. [Surah Al-Mumtahinah :9]

Part 2

بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم

الحمد لله ربِّ العالمين، وصلَّى الله وسلَّم على المبعوث رحمة للعالمين، وعلى آله وأصحابه ومن تبعهم بإحسان إلى يوم الدين، وسلَّم تسليماً كثيراً

أمَّا بعد

My dear brothers in Islam,

Let us remember the significance of Palestine and Al-Quds. After the liberation of Al-Aqsa by Salah Ad-Deen in the inaugural Khutba given by Al-Qadi Muhiy ad-Deen ibn Az-Zaki reminds us about its virtues, he said:

“It is the home of your father Ibraheem عليه السلام, the place of ascent (mi’raj) of your Prophet Muhammad (saw), your qibla towards which you used to pray at beginning of Islam. It is the homeland of the prophets, the focal point of the friends of Allah, the refuse of the messengers, the place where revelation came down, the place to which commands and prohibitions were sent down. It is the land of resurrection and gathering. It is the holy land which Allah has mentioned in His clear Book. It is the mosque in which Allah has mentioned in His clear Book. It is the mosque in which the Messenger of Allah (saw) led the highest-ranking angels in prayer; it is the land to which Allah sent His slave and Messenger, His Word which He bestowed upon Maryam and the Spirit from Him, Isa whom He honored with the office of Allah’s Messenger and the Prophet, who never departed from a position of servitude to Allah (swt) says:

لَّن يَسْتَنكِفَ الْمَسِيحُ أَن يَكُونَ عَبْدًا لِّلَّـه

The Messiah does by no means disdain that he should be a servant of Allah, [Surah An-Nisa:172]

and

لَّقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّـهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَم

Certainly, they disbelieve who say: Surely, Allah– He is the Messiah, son of Marium. [Surah Al-Ma’ida: 17]

It is the first of the two qiblas, the second of the two mosques and third of the holy sanctuaries. No journey is to be undertaken to any mosque, after the two most sacred, except it.”

My dear brothers in Islam,

The issue of Palestine is not a Palestinian or an Arab issue, it is an Islamic issue, and we will be held accountable for its complete liberation.

We must:

1) SPEAK OUT

Silence is not an option – Al-Quds is a matter of Iman for us.

Muslims can’t be silent over this matter, enjoining in the good and forbidding the munkar is an obligation on all Muslims, even if the Government deem speaking out against the poisonous Zionist state to be extreme.

2) DEMONSTRATE

Organise demonstrations calling for the liberation of Al-Quds, demonstrate against the two-state solution, negotiations and all of the other solutions which don’t lead to the liberation of Palestine.

3) ACCOUNT

Hold the Muslim rulers to account, who are the defenders of the Zionist entity. Their empty words of red lines and openly aiding the Zionist entity are treachery against the Ummah. Saudi, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan and many others fear the wrath of the US, yet not of Allah ﷻ. They could send in their armies and put an end to the occupation overnight.

4) EXPOSE THE ‘TWO-STATE’ SOLUTION

Expose the so-called ‘two-state’ solution. It is not a solution but a means of legitimising the occupation of the whole of Palestine. It is an American plan to subjugate this noble Ummah to brutality and murder, while they plunder the wealth and resources of the Ummah and try to plant their feet firmly in the Muslim world.

5) AID THE GLOBAL CALL

Only the Khilafah Rashidah will bring about liberation for Al-Quds, Kashmir and all of the other occupied lands. We must aid the global call for the establishment of the Khilafah. Stand for it, call for it and work for it.

إِنَّمَا الإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِه 

“Verily the Imam is a shield behind whom they (Muslims) fight and by whom they are protected”. [Muslim]
