Participation in the Istanbul International Arab Book Fair - July 2016
Al-Waie Magazine took part in the Istanbul International Arab Book Fair in the Exhibition Center in Istanbul. The days of this participation, which lasted from July 25-31st, witnessed a remarkable interaction of visitors and participants of the exhibition.
The magazine’s booth displayed over 25 books published by Hizb ut Tahrir, most notably the books written by the eminent scientists Ameers of Hizb ut Tahrir, as well as more than 20 issues of the Al-Waie Magazine, featuring Issue No. 354-355. These books and magazines were a marvelous display of important topics in Tafseer, Usool, Fiqh, ideology, and politics, being topics of interest to all Muslims and, in particular, thinkers, scholars, and students of science and universities.
Al-Waie Magazine’s featured Issue No. 354-355 topped the list of sales during the display due to its discussion of hot topics in Syria, Yemen, Libya, and Egypt. It also includes valuable topics on the Khilafah "Caliphate", seeking the Nussrah, among other topics... Moreover, the film that was shown, which turns the pages of the magazine, played an important role in attracting attention.
The book, Tayseer fe Usool ul-Fiqh, by the eminent scholar Ata Bin Khalil Abu al-Rashtah of Hizb ut Tahrir (may Allah protect him), attracted great attention from the visitors of the exhibition.
There is no doubt that the availability of the free books on the Internet and their publication and care by the da’wah carriers had an effect on the low sales in general, but our hearts were filled with joy when we heard the words of a visitor, "I have owned this book for decades."
In record time and under various conditions and developments of great sensitivity taking place in Turkey today, our participation made it clear for us that working with the Ummah is feasible, unpretentious, and all odds become obsolete against sincere determination. It has also made clear that the Da’wah carriers must break free of the emotional constraint in order for them to move to broad prospects of working with the Ummah, for the Ummah awaits them.
Furthermore, our participation in the exhibition helped us in realizing the importance of aesthetics in the book service and showcasing it in the best way possible from covers to print. Regardless of our knowing that this is governed by the conditions of various areas, we want to give this matter the utmost attention in order for the books to be in the finest format.
We ask Allah to bless the efforts of the brothers and sisters responsible for Al-Waie Magazine for progressing it to the ground-breaking place in the world. And we ask Him that He may reward the participating brothers and sisters the best reward, and all the thanks and appreciation to those who contributed to and supported this review and we ask Allah to help us and you to do all that is good.
