Pakistan’s Economy is a Cash Machine for Those Who Invest in Debt

At its meeting on 31 July 2023, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) decided to keep the interest unchanged at 22 percent. The interest rates in Pakistan are amongst the highest in the world. Those who invest in debt are making huge profits at the cost of our economy, whilst the burden of taxation is increased to pay the interest. The economy can only recover under the Khilafah, which will implement the Islamic economic system.

We Need Unification of Muslim States as A Single Khilafah. “Cooperation” Between Them is Not Enough

The Foreign Minister attended an online meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on 1 August 2023, in which he condemned the repeated desecration of the Noble Quran. Whilst the lands of Muslims are divided into states and statelets, no amount of “cooperation” will prevent attacks on Islam. The Khilafah on the Method of Prophethood will be the largest state in the world, from Indonesia to Morroco. It will be a single state with no borders between Muslims. Its army will be the largest army in the world. It will have more minerals and energy resources than any other state. It will have a single Bayul Maal to collect revenue and spend on looking after the affairs of the Ummah. It will take any attack on Islam’s sanctities as an act of war.

Pakistan Can only Benefit from Its Huge Mineral Resources Under the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood

The Ministry of Energy, Petroleum Division, revealed on 31 July 2023, the staggering value of mineral resources in Pakistan, estimated at a colossal $6.1 trillion. Since the sixties of the last century, no economic initiative in the field of energy and minerals has improved the economic situation of the people. In contrast, after privatization of energy and minerals, a small group of local and foreign investors have made huge profits, whilst the suffering of the people increased each year. Capitalist economic ensures the concentration of the wealth in the hands of a few, by declaring it private property. We need the Islamic economic system under the Khilafah instead of capitalism. The Khilafah ensures the distribution of wealth by declaring minerals as public property, and spending its revenues and profits upon the needs of the people.

Surrender of Occupied Lands is not an Option in Islam

The Prime Minister on 1 August 2023, declared that “war is no more an option” regarding India and Occupied Kashmir. The secular rulers separate the Deen from life and so they surrender the rights of Muslims to their enemies. They have surrendered Kashmir to a brutal Hindu State, which supports the murder and rape of the Muslims under its authority. The land of Muslims are an inviolable sanctity as is their blood and honor. War to ensure the liberation of occupied lands is an obligation, not on option. It is the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood that will send the armies of Muslims to liberate our lands soon, inshaaAllah. Allah (swt) said,

[وَأَخْرِجُوهُمْ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَخْرَجُوكُمْ وَالْفِتْنَةُ أَشَدُّ مِنْ الْقَتْلِ]

“Expel them from wherever they expelled you. Fitna is worse than killing.” [TMQ Surah al-Baqarah 2:191]

Democracy Paralyzes the State Due to Continuous Competition Over Authority

The Prime Minister on 3 August revealed that he will dissolve the National Assembly on 9 August. Struggle between the political parties has increased as elections are now expected. Political parties struggle with each other to ensure their preferred men as prime minister, chief minister, ministers, army chief, judges in the Supreme Court and heads of accountability institutions. This struggle destabilizes the state. In Islam, the Ummah elects the Khaleefah for life. He rules with full authority and enacts long term policies. The authority of the Khaleefah is not limited by time or jurisdiction. The Khaleefah’s power is constrained by the Noble Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.

The Khilafah Will Protect all the Citizens Under Its Care

On 4 August 2023, most mosques were shut for Salah of Jumu’ah in an important business hub on the outskirts of India’s capital, after six people were killed in sectarian riots. As Modi prepares for elections, Muslims are being martyred all over the Hindu State. Indeed, Muslims are just fuel to stoke the fire of Hindu bigotry for winning votes. The Islamic Ummah needs its shield, the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, «إِنَّمَا الْإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ يُقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَيُتَّقَى بِهِ » “Indeed, the Imam (Khaleefah) is a shield, from behind whom you fight and by whom you are protected.” [Muslim]. For centuries, the Khilafah ensured security for all the citizens of Islamic Indian Subcontinent, regardless of their race, social status and religion.

The Khilafah Provides the Out-Of-The-Box Solutions for the Economic Crisis

On 5 August 2023, the Foreign Minister said that the next eight to ten months will be very difficult for the average citizens. He then spoke of the need for out-of-the-box solutions. The current capitalist system is the cause of the economic suffering and it offers nothing new. Islam alone provides the out-of-the-box solutions that will end the economic crisis. Islam forbids interest, which is the main expense of the current budget. Islam makes energy and minerals public property. The profit from public property is spent needs of the Ummah. Islam forbids taxation on the poor and indebted. Islam spends from Zakah on the poor and indebted. Islam commands taxation on trading merchandise, agricultural yield and savings. Thus, the Khilafah ensured prosperity for centuries. Pakistan has abundant resources. It needs the Khilafah (Caliphate) on the Method of Prophethood.
