Wilayah Turkey: Women Conference "Lost Generation: Islamic Youth & Islamic Education"
The Women's Section of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Turkey organised on the 08th of October 2017 a conference in Ankara under the title, "Lost Generation: Islamic Youth & Islamic Education".
The conference was opened with the recitation of the Qur'an al-Karim, and started with the video message by Dr. Nazreen Nawaz, Director of the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir.
The first speaker, Neşe Gül Eren, Islamic theologist and writer, highlighted the failures of the current education system in Turkey and their corruptive effects on the society.
Neşe Gül Eren proved with statistics that, "education in Turkey, which is meant to start with reading, comprehension, assessment and production, starts at the level of reading."
She listed the main dilemmas that youth in Turkey are stranded due to this education system. Today, Islam's order "read" is misunderstood, and regarded as an intellectual tool to diploma and career. Whereas the true meaning of this Ayah means to comprehend Allah's address to the human, and the path to reaching the necessary information to the regulations of Islam.
After the presentation of a short video, researcher and writer Gamze Gürsoy explained the necessity of an Islamic Education system. She also explained the implementation of this system and highlighted the gains of it through examples from Islamic history.
She stated that, "Inshaallah the Islamic Education System implemented in the future Islamic Khilafah State will lead mankind from darkness into light by enabling the "best nation produced for mankind" to fulfil the requirements of this "perfected Deen".
Gamze Gürsoy emphasized that it is only the education model of the Khilafah Rashidah that will be a role model in education for the whole world.
The event concluded with a dua.
