بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
In a press release issued on 20th Ramadhan 1429 Hijri, corresponding to 20th September 2008, the official spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Turkey, Yilmaz Celik, responded to media allegations of links between Hizb ut-Tahrir and "Ergenekon".
In a letter addressed to the chief editor of Samayolu TV, Yilmaz Celik rejected the allegations that Hizb ut-Tahrir members had any links to the Ergenekon and reminded him of the guidance of Allah (swt):
"O you who believe! If a wicked person (fasiq) comes to you with news, then verify it, lest you harm people without realising it and afterwards you become regretful for what you have done" [TMQ Al-Hujurat: 6]
Yilmaz Celik explained that Hizb ut-Tahrir and its work to re-establish the rightly guided Caliphate was well known. He explained that Hizb ut-Tahrir is a political party whose ideology is Islam - it works to resume the Islamic way of life by the re-establishment of the Islamic Caliphate and it adopts the method ordered by Allah (swt). Hizb ut-Tahrir engages in the intellectual and political work and does not engage in violence.
Finally, Yilmaz Celik reiterated the party's opposition to the British backed pro-terrorist "Ergenekon" and the American AKP ruling party. He concluded by dismissing the allegations as merely yet another attempt to defame Hizb ut-Tahrir and its work.
