Ahead of June's scheduled budget announcement, the Raheel-Nawaz regime established its broad guidelines, according to demands of the colonialist institution, the International Monetary Fund (IMF). On 11 May 2015, the regime reached an agreement with the IMF for the disbursement of a tranche of $506 million as part of a $6.8 billion package. Pakistan's Finance Minister, Ishaq Dar, announced the withdrawal of tax exemptions totalling over Rs100 billion, adjustments in energy tariffs and a cut in subsidies during the next financial year.
