On 8^thJune 2015, an article written by Dr. Muzaffar Syah Mallow at Utusan News stated that it is time the Government evaluate and update all the legal provisions to curb the issue of human smuggling and trafficking. Malaysia has completely banned any forms of activities which involves human trafficking and smuggling through the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants 2007 (Act 670). This case arose as a result of the influx of Rohingya and Bangladesh refugees who have smuggled into Malaysia.
