Every year Bangladesh celebrates "International Women's Day" on the 8th of March imitating the other countries in the world. The advocates of the secular capitalist democratic system celebrate this day as a symbol of women's struggle in the last 100 years to achieve their "rights, freedom and honour."

On this occasion, Hizb ut Tahrir, states in clear words that the ever increasing violence against women in the developed and developing countries, including Bangladesh, proves without doubt that the secular system has failed to take care of and solve the problems faced by women. The corrupt and misguided democratic system has simply turned women into sexual and profit making commodities with its false slogans of women's rights and freedom. As a result it has created a perverted view of women in society. And it is this perverted view coupled with uncontrolled personal freedom which is the real reason behind the widespread oppression and violence against women prevailing in society.

Sadly, the women's organizations in the country that are working for women's rights have utterly failed to identify the cause of oppression against women due to their irrational and extremist anti-Islamic attitude and shameless attempts to blame Islam as suppressing women. This has distracted them from the true cause which we have mentioned above.

Indeed, what the women have still failed to achieve from this man-made democratic system after over 100 years of hard struggle, Islam secured for them more than that 1400 years ago under the Khilafah "Caliphate" state without having to launch any women's movement or struggle in terms of basic rights and political, economic, legal and social rights. Not only this, Islam has shut all the ways for women to be exploited as sexual and profit making commodities. Women are viewed as an honour by Islam and the Islamic society honours her as a human.

Hizb ut Tahrir calls upon all those who are truly sincere in ending the oppression of women including the sincere women's organizations to reject and discard the oppressive secular system and work for re-establishing the Khilafah "Caliphate" which will once again establish a just and exploitation free society and thereby bring a permanent end to the constant violence against women and liberate both man and women from the slavish life under the current system.
