Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Iraq issued a widely distributed leaflet, dated 2 Safar 1430 Hijri/28th January 2009, which outlined its view towards the Iraqi elections on Saturday 31st January 2009. The leaflet made it clear that these elections are a crime and that participation in them is Haram.
On 21 January 2009, Pakistan's President, Asif Ali Zardari, began an attempt by his government to portray the inauguration of the new US President, Barak Hussain Obama, as a new hope for Pakistan. Zardari said, "Renewal by the US president of commitment to high ideals and values would raise hope for a better future for the peoples of the world."

This morning the United Nations Security Council issued Resolution 1860 regarding the brutal hostility against the Gaza Strip. This resolution's wording employs malicious, political cunning, as used previously in Resolution 242, after the hostility in 1967, which mentions withdrawal from "territories," without specifying withdrawal from "the territories," and thus granting the state of Jews scope to remain on territories that it seized!
On the 9th of January 2008, Hizb ut-Tahrir Wilayah of Pakistan, convened 3 demonstrations in the cities of Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad. At the Islamabad demonstration speeches were delivered by Engr. Junaid and Taimur Butt. Junaid reminded demonstrators that the issue of Palestine was an Islamic issue and not an Arab issue. He also explained how the land of Palestine was opened by Umar bin al-Khattab (ra), how it was a sanctuary (haram) and its position as the land of Isra wal Miraj (the night journey and ascension). Taimur Butt called for the Islamic armies to liberate the land of Palestine.

Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh convened a demonstration entitled "Only the Khilafah "Caliphate" state can fulfil the demand voiced by the Ummah to mobilize the Muslim armies against Israel" on Friday 9th January 2009 in front of the main mosque in Dhaka. The demonstration was attended by three thousand protestors who spoke out against the Israeli aggression towards the Muslims of Palestine.
