(24 January 2016), Dhaka University (DU) syndicate took an outrageous decision to expel five of its meritorious students for life for their involvement with Hizb ut Tahrir. They are MBA students of the Management Department Shihab Uddin and Saidi Hasan Sajib, MBA student of Accounting Department Toriqul Islam, and BBA students Nakib Farhan and Alamgir Hossain.

 A political question along the lines of the raising of the slogans in Tunisia.

What is the relationship between the many millions of Muslims that live in the Western world and the state that they live in? Are they to be treated as equal citizens, is their understanding of Islam to be corrupted with a Western approved Islam, or are they to be left alone to carry Islam in a pure and pristine manner?
