Press Statement
THE ICC WON'T SOLVE THE PROBLEMS FACING KENYA. THE REAL SOLUTION IS TO ABOLISH THE COLONIAL POLITICS OF DEMOCRACY!

After the post election violence which began immediately following the announcement of the contested presidential election results which claimed 1300 lives and a half million homeless and properties worth billion of shillings being destroyed, the mediation efforts led by former UN chief Kofi Anan followed with high pace  and ended up with the signing of a deal between the two rival parties, ODM led by Raila Odinga who became a prime minister and Mwai Kibaki of PNU who became president in a grand coalition government.

Western powers especially America and Britain vowed to be strict in following steps that will lead to a concrete solution to the most pressing problems facing Kenya which include grand corruption, poor leadership, bad land policy and tribalism. Several commissions to investigate the root causes of the election violence were formed among them Independent Election Review Commission (IREC) headed by Justice Kriegler from South Africa and Commission to Investigate Post-Election Violence (CIPEV) led by Philip Waki, a judge from the Court of Appeal.

Finally the CIPEV in its report known as the ‘Waki Report' made a number of recommendations including the prosecution of the perpetrators of the election violence at the International Criminal Court (ICC) in the Hague if Kenya fails to establish a credible special tribunal meeting ‘international standards' to bring to book the suspects locally.

Up to now, U.S and Britain are pressurizing for what they call a permanent solution to problems facing this country. Recently US president Barack Obama warned that his administration is preparing to issue a ban travel on 15 prominent Kenyans officials claimed to block the reforms. That stand was backed by UK and Canada. The American ambassador has   been vocal everyday with threats and imperial orders as if he is a colonial governor.

O Kenyan people! Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa reminds you that it's about two decades since America introduced her multiparty democratic politics in Kenya as a ‘solution' for solving   problems facing Kenya and the whole of Africa, but as Swahili saying says: ‘Mwenye macho   haambiwi tazama' meaning: A person with eyes to see should not be requested to look! Four multi-party democratic elections have been held and yet up to this moment your basic needs have not been satisfied and what you see now is a continuous tug of war and acrobatics of greedy democratic politicians barking at one another with everyone claiming he is an expert in solving the problems and therefore urging people to elect him! Clear proof of that is the problem of corruption. How many commissions have set up in Kenya since the so called single-party dictatorial leadership up to this time now termed as ‘freedom and democracy.' Have these commissions eradicated corruption or nurtured it?

O Muslims and non Muslims! There is a hidden truth which the Islamic party Hizb ut-Tahrir would like to reveal about the reality of democracy and the system which emanate from it which is summarized as follows:

  1. America while leading other western nations is vocal about democracy showing it as the best ruling system to be adopted by all nations. This thought claims to give people the freedom to elect a ruler of their choice. The truth is that the ruler who serves the interests of the west is a ‘good ruler' even if he is not the people's choice for it is fallacy that democracy has given people the right to elect a ruler of their choice. In addition to that, the key decisions are made by few people who plunder resources while conspiring with the politicians who care nothing but their stomachs not the poor.

  2. All democratic politicians are the same with no difference since their basis is personal interests and not their parties nor the electorate. They deceive people through bribes and empty promises as a means to be elected to attain leadership only to fill their stomachs and use the people as a ladder to reach the top, nor do they fall short of instigating violence among the masses such as what politicians in Kenya did when they instigated the violence for their own personal interests. It is an undeniable fact that democracy has created more tribal divisions among people instead of unifying them.

  3. America carries the Capitalist ideology which was invented by the western intellectuals e.g. Adam Smith, John Locke, Rousseau and it has been boasting about it since the collapse of the communist ideology invented by Karl Max in the nineties of the twentieth century. In accordance with capitalism, greedy capitalist elitists hoard wealth without caring for others and see that the only way to safeguard their interests is through politicians and rulers. Naturally the ruler must be loyal to the capitalists and if he is seen as obstacle he will be vilified and even force will be used to remove him from power as America is doing all over the world. Since capitalism is a man-made system, it is not self sufficient and rather contains numerous short comings and contradictions which will be always be characteristics of this ideology.

  4. America puts a lot of efforts to patch the holes globally of her ideology which is the prime source of the global economic recession, political unrest, and moral degradation within society. It hides all this by seducing people by pointing the finger to the rulers and governments claiming that they have gone against democracy. America also sends her prominent officials as mediators between people, an example being last year's visits to Kenya by the former US foreign secretary Condoleezza Rice and UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon claiming that the objective of their visits is to help and save Kenya while the reality is they came to safeguard the economic interests of American corporations. The truth of the matter is that the root cause of all problems  in Africa and the world at large is the capitalist ideology implemented by all governments existing in the world as directed by America or by her competitors in the western camp.

O wise men! Is this not neo colonialism?

O rational people, whether Muslims and non Muslims! Hizb ut-Tahrir East Africa concludes this communiqué calling to the solution for all problems and calamities in the world namely the implementation of the Islamic ideology. Islam is the complete way of life from the Creator of all beings with the guidance to solve the all problems whether being economic hardship, social and political etc with the best solution. We do believe that Kenya has intellectuals who see the rotten imperialistic ideology for what it is, thus it is now the time to join hands with Hizb ut-Tahrir in rejecting and exposing capitalism and its politics of democracy so as to serve Allah Ta'ala, the creator of all beings, and free ourselves from the slavery of other humans. The time has come to propagate Islam as the best ideology to solve all your problems with permanent solution through its government, the Khilafah "Caliphate". We are ready to prove this with rational proofs through discussion, dialogue or debates with all people interested in the development of humanity.

"O you who believe! Answer Allah (by obeying Him) and His Messenger when he calls you to that which will give you life" [TMQ 8:24]
