KUALA LUMPUR 11 11 November - About 50 of Hizb ut-Tahrir Malaysia (HTM)'s members and supporters gathered at the Russian Embassy today to voice out protest on the brutal act of the Russian regime towards the Muslims in Russia in general and the members of Hizb ut-Tahrir Russia in particular.

Hundreds of Muslim especially the members of Hizb ut-Tahrir have been arrested and tortured brutally by the Russian regime since 2004. The malicious and false allegation had been made against them for no reason other than they are Muslims and practicing their religion of Islam.

HTM's delegation that was headed by Ustaz Abdul Hakeem Othman was not allowed to enter, nevertheless managed to hand over the protest letter to Mr. Vyacheslav G. Lutsenko, the First Secretary of the Ambassador, who received it with a lot of queries. Yet he finally took it and promised to hand it over to the Ambassador and to his government.

In the letter of protest, HTM emphasizes that:

1) HTM strongly condemns the oppression, torture and brutal treatment of Muslims, in particular of the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The torture and brutal treatment have been continuing for the past 7 years, yet, the Russian authorities have been closing its eyes on these inhumane activities inflicted upon the Muslims of Bashkortostan.

2) HTM strongly condemns the unfair trials and sentences inflicted upon the Muslims, in particular the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir in Russia. Hizb ut-Tahrir is a peaceful, ideological Islamic party which carries the message of Islam intellectually. Hizb ut-Tahrir are not involved in any form of violence or material struggle in order to convey the message of Islam. This is intrinsic in the teachings of Islam and is apparent in the activities of Hizb ut-Tahrir all over the world. The accusations made against Hizb ut-Tahrir by the Russian regime are baseless and can only be interpreted as a vicious and ideologically motivated attack on the Islamic way of life.

3) HTM demands an immediate release of all Muslims, in particular the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir, from the prisons of Bashkortostan and other regions of Russia, who are imprisoned unfairly based on these false accusations.

4) HTM demands that the Russian authority stop all brutal and inhuman tortures and oppressions on Muslims of Russia, in particular the Shabab of Hizb ut-Tahrir.

HTM warns the Russian regime of the coming Khilafah "Caliphate" (the Islamic State) that will surely teach them a lesson should they continuously torturing the Muslim brothers. After the coming of Khilafah "Caliphate", the Russian regime will definitely then not safe in this world, let alone in the day hereafter. Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala says-

{ وَلِلْكَافِرِينَ عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ‬ }

"And for the disbelievers there is a painful torment" [Al-Baqarah:104]

The peaceful demonstration ended after 15 minutes. They were some Special Branch officers and uniformed policemen who were there to observe the situation from the start. Alhamdulillah they gave full co-operation during the process till the end. The journalists from Bernama who were also there interviewed Ustaz Hakeem to get the actual report of the gathering and the protest.
