The Central Contacts Committee of Hizb ut Tahrir in Wilayah Sudan held its monthly Issues of the Ummah Forum on Tuesday 30 Rabii II 1434 AH, corresponding to 12 March 2013, in Khartoum titled: "Fulfill the Basic Needs... a Constitutional Issue."

The panelist addressed the forum's topic was Sheikh Badr al-Din al-Tahir wud Bader, an economic expert, who spoke about ensuring the basic needs of all citizens, Muslims and non-Muslims, one by one, fulfilling the whole; utilizing the process from the Quran and Sunnah, to solve problems that people experience from poverty, destitution and ill treatment resulting from the implementation of the capitalist system on the people in the Muslim countries and the world. And by abolishing customs and all indirect taxes and so on, since these taxes are placed on the business people are in fact Haram causing the bearer of these taxes to lead him into Hellfire. It is an injustice to the poor and needy because the merchant relays those taxes onto the price of goods. Enact the penal laws and provisions according to the Ahkam of the Quran to deter corruption throughout the land. Allow drilling of wells to irrigate agricultural land in anticipation of drought that hit the world by global warming. Therefore it is an obligation to dig wells to irrigate agricultural land to provide food for Muslims and non-Muslims, Europe and America all which will enter into the dark ages for a second time. Islam will return for a second time as well.

The Forum was attended by a number of political leaders, including Dr. Abdul Momen, Director of the International Center for a Culture of Peace, and Mr. Osman Idris Abu Ras, Deputy Secretary of the Arab Baath Party, and a number of Sufi men.

The attendance included lively participation with questions and inquiries on the subject of the topic. The forum concluded by calling for the need to continue such forums to raise the nation's awareness of their rights and duties so they learn how Islam treats humans' problems.
