Wilayah Sudan: Report regarding the Major Political Symposium Entitled: A Constitutional Crisis in Sudan and other Muslim Countries

Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Sudan held a major political symposium in Khartoum entitled: ‘A Constitutional Crisis in Sudan and other Muslim countries' on Saturday 25 Jumada I 1434 AH, corresponding to 06 April 2013. Brother Ibrahim Othman (Abu Khalil), Spokesman for Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Sudan, discussed the meaning of the Constitution, and the historical background of the Constitution of Sudan and stages experienced by, from the so-called pre-independence through a period of post-independence of military rule first in 1958, the period of so-called democracy first, and the stage of military rule II - era Jaafar Nimeiri - then the second democratic, after the popular uprising, and even a so-called coup revolution of National Salvation in 1989, and even 2005 Constitution which the constitution, which is based upon the Navasha Agreement that separated the south of Sudan from the north. He also spoke about political corruption and economic hardship that resulted from these systems and constitutions, which created injustice, class and tribal and regional.

The second speaker, Brother Awad Naji, a member of Hizb ut-Tahrir / Wilayah Sudan, discussed the solutions for the constitutional crisis in the Sudan and in the entire Islamic world, and the reality of rights, and whether the man is able to place a constitution from his mind. How can there be a permanent constitution based on Islam? Also discussed the draft constitution adopted by Hizb ut Tahrir and viewed some of the articles concerning the system of government and some general provisions, and this Constitution will only be applied by the state based on Islamic doctrine, the Khilafah "Caliphate" Rashida.
