The Story of Syria- Children of the Revolution

Ibtihal Bsis is Libyan by origin and married to a Syrian, with four children. She has been travelling to Syria since 2004 where she studied the Quran and tajweed. She is a tajweed teacher and gave Quran tafsir classes at a mosque in London. She has travelled extensively in the Muslim world - Pakistan, Tunisia, Lebanon, amongst others. She lived in France during the hijab ban in 2004 and was part of a delegation to the Elysee Palace which presented an open letter to Jacques Chirac.
She is a former presenter of a Muslim women's show on Islam Channel and is a barrister by profession.
She is the Deputy Media Representative of Hizb ut Tahrir Britain. She has spoken on a number of issues affecting the Muslim community in Britain but has namely been raising awareness about the call and struggle taking place in Syria over the past three years, across Britain.
As a result she releases a three part documentary which charts her experiences of her visits to Syria, "The Story of Syria" due to be released in May 2014.
