 Press Release
On the Occasion of 28th Rajab, 103rd Year Since the Abolishment of the Islamic Caliphate
(Translated)

This time the month of Rajab (in lunar calendar) approached again while the Muslim Ummah is still suffering gravely in absence of the Islamic Caliphate. Exactly one hundred and three years ago in 28th of Rajab 1342 A.H., the Islamic Caliphate was abolished in the hands of the criminal dictator, Mustafa Kamal. It's been just over a century that the Muslim Ummah has been suffering from the aftershocks of that tragic incident and feeling every bit of it to date. Since the Islamic Caliphate saw a collapse through political, military and cultural offensives of the Colonial British Empire, it was after the fall of that protective umbrella of the Muslims that their territories were colonized, nation-states were imposed on us, the rule of Islam was suspended and our blood, property, and honor along with our rituals and sacraments were violated. The ongoing barbarity by the Zionist entity in Gaza, the oppression of Indian Muslims by the Hindutva regime, the ongoing crime of the Chinese Government on Uighur Muslims and the likes of which are all happening in the absense of the Muslims’ Shield (the Caliph).

Prophet Mohammad (saw) said:

«إِنَّمَا الإِمَامُ جُنَّةٌ یقَاتَلُ مِنْ وَرَائِهِ وَیتَّقَى بِهِ» “Imam (The leader, the Caliph) is the Shield behind whom Jihad is conducted and by whom (the Muslims) are protected (from the wrath of the enemies).”

Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Afghanistan has launched a campaign on the said occasion across Afghanistan. These activities have been carried out both through online virtual platforms as well as in-person interactions to once again remind the Muslim people regarding the establishment of the Caliphate – an Islamic duty which is particularly aimed at calling on the people of power that the Establishment of the second rightly guided Caliphate (Khilafah Rashidah) and the Nussrah of the oppressed Muslims is a Fard (a religious obligation) on them.

The Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir / Wilayah Afghanistan officially invites all Afghan communities, media outlets and journalists, particularly those who have sincere feelings towards Islam and its values to extend their support in disseminating the message of truth by promoting and/or covering the activities of this sincere campaign, becoming an integral part of such endeavors aimed at returning the Second rightly guided Caliphate (Khilafah Rashidah).
