The Fratricide Between Afghanistan and Pakistan Serves US-India Regional Policies

A number of civilians have been killed and injured following the airstrikes by Pakistani forces in Paktika and Khost provinces of Afghanistan. In response to these attacks, Afghanistan’s military forces attacked several Pakistani military positions in the Durand Line and inflicted casualties on them. The atmosphere of social media pertaining to both countries has been streaming nationalist feelings and revenge against one another.

The Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir/ Wilayah Afghanistan condemns the ongoing conflict between Muslims of two sides and declares the following points in this regard:

First, it’s not only regretful but also shameful that the strongest army of the Muslim world equipped with nuclear weapons is targeting civilians, children and women in Afghanistan under the guise of “countering terrorism” in the holy month of Ramadan. While over the past five months, the Jewish entity has been carrying a bloodbath, massacring Palestinian Muslims before the eyes of Pakistani generals, the treacherous Pakistani military has been shamelessly acting as bystanders – even not making a tiny reaction.

Second, Pakistan is a US mercenary state in the region. What makes the Pakistani government to commit such cowardly acts is because the US has seemingly assigned a new role for Pakistan in the region. The US wants to see the Pakistani armed forces confront its own people, the Pakistani Muslims residing in the tribal areas along the artificial Durand Line as well as the Mujahideen of Afghanistan. The bitter irony is that Muslims are waging conflict against each other while Modi's Hindutva government is not only persecuting Muslims inside India but also continuing the occupation of Kashmir fearlessly. All these efforts are made with the aim to keep India unworried of Pakistan so that it can play its main role under America's containment strategy of China. Therefore, the recent clashes between the two Muslim sides is rooted in the regional policies of the US, implemented by the treacherous rulers of Pakistan.

Third, instead of opening fire at one another and getting involved in false nationalist and/or patriotic sentiments, the Afghan Mujahideen, Mujahideen of the tribal areas and sincere elements in the ranks of the Pakistani army must revolve their rifles to the right direction. At this critical juncture, there is nothing more important than defending the defenseless Palestinian people and liberating the occupied Kashmir. Therefore, for this great mission, it is necessary to eliminate the cancerous Durand Line and join their energy and strength in the defense of Masjid Al-Aqsa and the Muslims of Palestine and Kashmir. Minor issues should not divide Muslims and the current agitation should not end in favor of US and India.

Therefore, unless the political map of the region changes from the nation-state order to that of the Caliphate State, and the hands of treacherous rulers and generals are not cut off from the fate of the Ummah, agitations of such type will continue. So, the fundamental solution to put an end to such destructive and historical conflicts is to unify Afghanistan, Pakistan and Central Asia under the umbrella of one Caliphate based on the method of Prophethood – a Caliphate that joins the intellectual, political, military and economic capabilities of the region and turns Muslims into a global power.

[وَأَطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلاَ تَنَازَعُوا فَتَفْشَلُوا وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْ]
