Press Release
Brown joins US and India in stoking anti-Pakistan propaganda

London UK, 14 December 2008 - On his weekend visit to India and Pakistan, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown has further stoked anti-Pakistan propaganda despite claims the visit would help ‘defuse' tensions.

Almost as soon as he arrived in India, the British media reported that he had blindly accepted India's version of events and showed absolute support for the Indian position, blaming Pakistan for not clamping down on 'extremism'. He announced a £6 million program to tackle ‘extremism' in Pakistan, an extension of the McCarthyist PVE agenda targeting Muslims in the UK.

Commenting on his visit, Taji Mustafa, Media representative of Hizb ut-Tahrir Britain said: "In a manner now typical of western governments, Brown deflected the causes of violence and tension away from political grievances and on to the mythical beast called 'extremism'. He ignores India's terrorism in Kashmir - including the use of rape as a systematic tool of terror - and says nothing about Indian intelligence stoking separatist militancy in Baluchistan."

"The US and Britain are failing in Afghanistan. They are overstretched in Iraq and their economies are collapsing at home. They would like nothing better than to offload some of their 'burden' onto India. This requires pushing for a Kashmir settlement that favours India, facilitating an escalation of India's dominance in the region, and using this to pressure Pakistan to maintain its involvement in the US's war on terror."

"Zardari and Jilani continue to do nothing to expose the propaganda and plans against Pakistan which only further reinforces the need for a new leadership and new system."
