Statement of Hizb ut Tahrir

As it was reported by Reuters (05/21/2012) the Commander of Indonesia Navy for eastern territory, Rear Admiral General Pramono has confirmed the plan that three U.S. warships , namely the U.S. CG WAESCHE, U.S. Navy USS Vandegrift FFG-48 and USS GPN LSD 42 ,will visit Indonesia on May 28, 2012,and will carry 831 personnel. Some of the activities to be performed since their arrival until the 8th of June, among others,will be social work in Madura and joint exercises with 1244 Indonesia Navy in the Coast of Banongan Situbondo, East Java, on June 2-5, 2012. The Joint exercise with password "Cooperation of Afloat Readiness and Training" (CARAT) will involve three Navy Ships and other combat equipment. Before starting the event, three US warships will rely on the General Port of Tanjung Perak. For their convenience the harbor will be closed for few days.  This policy is drawing protests from employers because it will cost them up to tens of billions of dollars due to the cessation of the activities of loading and unloading of goods at the port.

Out of the controversy about clearing port of Tanjung Perak from all business activities which is rejected by entrepreneurs, the presence of U.S warships and war training program in the region reveals wide US military intervention in Indonesia or at least, the beginning of military intervention of imperialist America in Indonesia.

U.S plans to strengthen its political and economic intervention which had been already started. The U.S wants to save its large political and economic interests in Indonesia from any distraction. The U.S wants to ensure that all interests are guaranteed sustainable and to anticipate every threats, barriers, and disturbances. Here is the real meaning of the presence of three U.S warships and war training program.

Regarding to this, Hizb-ut Tahrir / Indonesia:

1. Reject the presence of U.S Warships and war training program that will be held in Indonesia. Because it is a military intervention of U.S to strengthen its political and economic domination over our moslem country.

2. Remind the government not to continue the war training program with U.S. The government must reject the presence of U.S troops in any form, in any number and in any area of Indonesia because their presence means their military intervention and domination over this country. This is clearly contrary to the principles of sovereignty. Through closing the port of Tanjung Perak, the presence of U.S force has made advantages economically for economic agents. If the government permits the presence of U.S troops and continue to run war training program with U.S, it will surrender and bow in front of US and its interests which all people reject strongly.

3. Call on Muslims to strive earnestly for the re-enforcement of Sharia and caliphate. Because only sharia can realize goodness and justice and uproot secularism and capitalism. While Khilafah "Caliphate" will actually protect all Muslim countries, including Indonesia from foreign intervention in all forms.
