Hizb ut Tahrir Indonesia
Demanding to Release the Activists of Hizb ut Tahrir Bangladesh
On October 22 , 2009 the Bangladesh government suddenly announced that Hizb ut-Tahrir is a prohibited party on the pretext that Hizb ut-Tahrir "threaten public safety." Although Hizb ut-Tahrir is carrying out all activities openly in Bangladesh since 2001 by use of political means that are recognized and widely accepted, such as discussion and peaceful action. Hizb ut-Tahrir has never even used violence.Following that ban, on October 23 , 2009 the Government of Bangladesh imprisoned Spokesman of Hizb ut-Tahrir, Prof. Mohiuddin Ahmed as a way to stop a press conference held to reveal the response of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh against the government's decision. And on April 20, 2010, the Government of Bangladesh formally arrested him with false accusations. Until now he is still in jail along with dozens of members and Hizb activists, including representatives from the official spokesman Dr. Morshedul Haque and senior member, Prof. Dr. Syed Ghulam mawla.
Based on the above facts, Hizb ut-Tahrir Indonesia declare:
1. Demanding immediate release of all activists of Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh, and free from all charges over allegations that Hizb ut-Tahrir will attack and do acts of terrorism which are false accusations. One of the principles of Hizb ut-Tahrir struggle is non-violent. There has never been the slightest evidence that could link Hizb ut-Tahrir with so-called acts of violence, so it does not make sense at all that Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh "threatening public safety."
2. Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh is known very active disclosing government's policies that pro-imperialist countries, criticizing the presence of the U.S. military, the problem of foreign exploitation of natural resources of Bangladesh, and other various problems. Hizb ut-Tahrir Bangladesh is also very persistent against the corrupt secular government policy and called for the implementation of sharia and the Khilafah "Caliphate" (Caliphate). Therefore, any attempts made to stop the struggle of Hizb ut-Tahrir will fail because against people desire who want to be free from any kind of colonialism and want to live in an Islamic society.
3. Reminding the government of Bangladesh, that power built on foreign support, such as United States or Britain, is fragile power. And the action of the tyrannical Bangladesh's government would only strengthen the support of people of Bangladesh to Hizb ut-Tahrir, not vice versa. In addition, the end of all tyrannical rulers is the loss in this life and the hereafter.
