The fifteen-member group was tasked working alongside the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Health and Council of Governors to formulate conditions for reopening places of worship. In a new measure to curb the global Coronavirus pandemic, the Government has totally shutdown two Muslim highly dominated commercial centers; Eastleigh in Nairobi and Old Town in Mombasa. The Government’s claims that the step was not meant to punish the residents of the two suburbs but aimed at protecting Kenyans from infection since the areas have recorded high cases of Covid-19.

Rejecting a Hijab Review, Proof that Muslim Rights cannot be Guaranteed by the Secular Constitution

The Supreme Court has dismissed the application to review the Hijab case which was filed to quash a directive from St Paul Kiwanjani School to ban Muslim students from wearing the Hijab. The ruling has upheld the initial ruling made in January last year which set aside the court of appeal verdict which had sanctioned the wearing of Hijab in schools.
